ICBC Luxury vehicle hit list!

ICBC just updated the Luxury vehicle hit list for 2012. It's not looking good for exotic car owners!
They now have all +2007 Lambo/Ferrari's
+2005 Ford GT
+2012 Masarati
New Mclaren
2012 Vantage
+2007 Rolls Royce
+2011 Audi R8

Looks like ICBC didn't meet there quota so they decided to bend over the exotic cars owners a little further! Here is the link to the list.....

Interesting how they apply the rules to newer model years only for some cars, makes sense if you're totalling a car though, but for something like a minor front end accident on a 2008 997 turbo, shouldn't be any more expensive than a 2010 997 turbo,

By definition the ford GT is a certain luxury

ICBC | Own-damage coverage for luxury vehicles

You're not SOL if you are a mature driver with a good driving record I guess, you can still apply for the optional coverage and they will "tailor" the coverage to each customer.

This is interesting. I had no idea that owners of those cars had to go through a special process for optional coverage.

Take a look at the application form...

"Please attach a photo of the garage/parking spot" for both home and at work/school.

Does anyone know how much an average insurance policy costs? Say just a ballpark, assuming all the standard coverage - collision, comprehensive, etc.

well for a nissan gtr with 43% is around 5500 a year
and for the first 3 years it is even more. For something like a new aston is around 12000 and that was a quote for my dad

double the usual insurance usually. several exotic owners have stated they are paying roughly 6-7G with the 43+% discount and over 10+ years of driving experience.

lol @ communist B.C.

A corporation run by the government punishes the successful by refusing to cover their high end automobiles, yet still posts serious profits each fiscal.

That's not giving our wish if they rise the standard about 4-5 times.

For example if it costs about $13000 a year to insure an f430 under the new policy, it wont be much cheaper to look for a private company snice ICBC has set a high standard.

I hope I'm wrong.
