The ECU is more than capable of adapting to a "lower" grade of octane. You'll have a slight reduction in power, but that will only be noticeable if you're full-boosting the entire way.

You'll be fine.

I personally dont have 20 hours to wait for the damn thing to charge. Electric cars are stupid for road trips.

Quote:
What is the estimated time for full charging with 110v, 220v and quick-charge charge stations?
A: Starting from a depleted battery, about 20 hours at 110-120V (depending on amperage), approximately 7 hours at 208-240V (depending on amperage) and about 30 minutes at 480V (quick-charging station).

The ECU will need some time to re-learn the grade of fuel you are using and slowly compensate and make adjustments accordingly (adaptive tuning.)

Really? The difference between your 91 oct map and 94 oct map is the difference between your trip being fun or not?

Get your money exchanged here too. Nobody in Oregon takes Canadian hell even the banks wont take it and your debit card wont work in most establishments.

Um yeah I'm surprised a BANK wont exchange Canadian currency. I've never had a bank or any business in Canada turn down American currency when asked to exchange it.

In my experience, unless you were a customer of theirs (customer as in having an active account with them) they won't even touch Canadian or any foreign currency for that matter.

Again, just my own experience.

that's because the US $ is the reserve currency, the one currency that is, basically, accepted in most places (when I deal with Chinese suppliers, what currency do they want? US $)

Canadian $ != reserve currency, thus ppl who are surprised by it not being taken in a foreign country should really step back and realize where they are

and of course banks will exchange Cdn $, assuming they do currency exchange (not all banks do)

The Highway Patrol target Canadians. So fun drive? don't expect any of it.
Going 2mph over the limit and there's a radar over the next hill, you'll be dinged.

Get the retune for lower grade and enjoy your roadtrip.

You're better off renting a vehicle anyways especially if you're going with friends. Split the expenses and rack up all the mileage/rock chip on the rental and just fill up 85 octane.
