I am really shocked by how well the Swede did. I might just have to test drive one this weekend! I am still not warmed over with the headlight/grille on the F30, but I guess my opinions will change with a test-drive (I hated the 135i until I test drove one.. I've never grinned so much on a test-drive)

Sweet, F30 FTW!!! Can't wait till mine arrives.
And just to add my few cents to the comparison:
- C250/300 from MB felt boring to me during the test drive
- Lexus IS 250 was a little underwhelming, but better than C300. The interior is now a little dated.
- G25/35 felt too heavy for my taste
That's basically how I decided to go with F30 and surprisingly 328i was enough to put a grin on my face.

I agree with your sentiments on the competition as well. The C is just very sterile in terms of driving dynamics, unless you step in to a C350/63. I still think the Lexus has the most handsome interior out of the list, though the LCD clock from a 90s Corolla really needs to go. I'm happy that Lexus is finally ready to let the clock go on the GS. I saw the MSRP on the G25 and i just about burst out laughing. You give up 110+ hp for that teeny little bit of fuel savings.
Looks like you checked the entire laundry list when you ordered your 3!

So many positive comments from them about the F30. Quote:
We spent all of three minutes declaring the BMW best in test and best in class. This is not just a win for the 328i; it's a massacre. A slaughter. Doomsday. Armageddon. I say this with a straight face: There is no competition. Not only was the BMW's first-place finish never in question, but I can't remember a comparison test with such lopsided results. Honestly, we had a hard time finding bad things to say.

The new 2.0 Turbo in the 328i sounds like quite the engine as well.

I haven't been a fan of BMW's for awhile, but I really haven't heard anything bad about the new ones except for some minor subjective styling issues.

I would have expected the volvo and a4 to have their places switched, other than that it seems right on par.

I Volvo's.
I wonder if they're still made out of the same steel as before.
In one of the Scandinavian countries (I forgot which one), a group of people went to a junkyard and started cutting down Volvo's, Audi, Mercedes, BMW and VW's. The cars they were cutting up where from the 80s, they were trying to see which cars rusted and which didn't.
The Volvo's were spotless.
