Vaccines for S.E Asia.

Wondering if anyone can give me some quick advice/answers as to where and what vaccines are needed for S.E Asia travel spots.

I'll be going to Thailand/Malaysia/Indonesia and Cambodia. What are some shots that are a 'must' before going? I understand some shots require at least a month to kick in, so I am hoping to do it by this week.

Thanks

Does SFU/UBC cover any of these shots?

any travel clinic will do
i believe your student insurance cover partial costs of the shots...otherwise they are in the $300+ range

Hepatitis A
Hepatitis B (Usually taken in high school)

Tetanus and Measles are also highly recommend (these 2 are usually free)
-> Tetanus is good for 10 years. Often given by doctors if you had large cuts and required stitching in the past.

Typhoid Fever is also recommended for rural areas. Such as Cambodia you'll be travelling to.

Everyone's cases is different depending on the exact location you're going, and your own personal health condition. Best to consult a travel clinic or your family doctor for the most accurate information.

Travel clinics know about it all, make sure u go early enough before your trip though to let the vaccinations set in ur immune system. better to let them affect you (make you sick) here than in another country.
