Went to the Vancouver Christmas Market. Very Christmasy, very crowded, very German.

Joe Ray from the Boston Globe asked me to take him around eating in Richmond. Did a bit of an interview on Richmond, the food and the Asian culture.

Tried tsukemen for the first time a couple days ago, inspired by David Chang and "Mind of a Chef". I've had cold ramen and cold udon dipped like soba but never cold ramen dipped in hot broth.

Words and pictures and all those things soon.

In my opinion, awesome. And since he says it's one of his new faves, I'd guess the same. Just...be careful Friday and Saturday nights. Crazy lines.

Santouka is great and pretty good but I find that the price is a bit much for ramen. Sure you can say it's on Robson/Denman location but it's ramen we're talking about.

Remember you get double the noodles with tsukemen so $12.00 isn't bad and if you add $1.00 for the extra noodles, $13 for that MOUNTAIN of ramen is a steal.

^ I guess if you order Tsukemen it's actually quite worth it but the other "styles" and flavours aren't worth it.

I don't know I haven't tried them but if they were good, the extra buck or two isn't a big deal. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Gorgeous pictures, and nicely written review.

Can't join you in your perspective though. Granted, I only had two of their dishes and it was alright. I didn't think it was a great value either. Cute/attractive waitresses though!

Is Santouka the only place locally that serves tsukemen?

I looked everywhere but couldn't find any other places that serve tsukemen in the Lower Mainland. I even scoured the lesser known ramen shops (...most of which aren't very good anyways) but came up empty.

But Santouka's is amazing and not a terrible value since you get a mountain of noodles.

Took a bit of time off to take care of the videos I'm producing. Back with a look at Kaya Malay Bistro, 1063 West Broadway.

Damn that mango snoothie looks good.
Which roti canai did you order? Regular or whole wheat?

What was included and not included in your set menu?

I just had this last week with extra noodles. Portion looks about the same as the regular sized one in your picture
