Tire mismatch. 3 summer and 1 all season.

OK....found a set of 18" a-spec ebony chrome with tpms and tires on my local craigslist.

I met up with the guy and checked them out BUT i failed to note one thing.. one of the tires was different!

the config is the following:

3 x Goodyear F1 summer 235/40/18
1 x Michelin MXM4 all season 245/40/18

i inflated the tires to 33.5 on all 4.. yet the TPMS reports the michelin at a bit lower than the others. is it due to it being a larger tire?

took it for a spin and didnt notice anything out of the ordinary but this is a temporary setup... just wanting to ride out at least one season before next winter...

any concerns?? i know its probably not a good thing.. but i'm not planning on any spirited driving.

Is your Honda AWD? If it is then your diffs may become unhappy. If your car is not AWD then your car will be fine and don't worry about it.

should be okay, but because its slightly different the braking on that one tire will be better/worse depending on conditions and what not

If you're really worried about it, get the tires shaved down so they're even in height. Even then, tread wear will be different, so be careful.

Tire wear seems about even for all.. about down to 60%.

OK, updated scenario.. i called the craigslist guy and he offered to sell me the other 3 michelin 245/40/18 for $125.

...However, i also found someone on CL selling a single Good Year F1 for $100 at approx 70% tread.

I just want a comfy ride.. as i commute everyday ..i'm thinking the michelins?

I think I would go for michelin if you are looking for comfy ride..
but I would also consider of the age of tires they are selling you; I wouldn't get any tires older than 4-5 years

i ended up getting the michelins.. 2 were 'professionally patched'.. but so far, they have held up well as I've been driving everyday 75km on them for 3 weeks. They have about 1 season left out of them...so come Oct when I slap on my winter rims/tires i will start scoping out replacement all season/summers for 2013.

Michelin date stamp is 0805 so they are pretty old... but i'm pretty certain they will last the summer.

Buy both of these and you'll have 2 complete sets of tires!
