BMW e36 turbo question

hey there, i have a e36 , and it hopelesly underpowered, i was thinking of either sticking a 540i v8 in it, or putting a turbo on it.
I've never owned a turbo car, so how much would it cost to install one,( parts and labour- estimate). or if you guys can give me any better ideeas of how to modd it, im more than open to suggestions.
thanks

wow. do you have a 4 cyl or 6 ? Are they going to o ring the cylinder head and put forged pistons in as well? You need at least 12 lbs of boost to feel any power.
