Help me to pick a small car around $16 - 17,000

Is going to be a daily.

Car i have in mind are Volvo C30, Mini Cooper and Golf.

Feel free to add to the list, and if possible, pros and cons.

Thank you very much in advance.

1. Go buy a shitbox, like a rusted out K-car, for $500.
2. Spend $16,500 pimping your ride!
3. Aww yeah:

Oops, ~16-17, Miata, Mazda 3, Civic, Focus, but yea if you can afford the $25000 plus freight and taxes, the Abarth is damn good.

We should have an Official What Car Should I Buy thread.

As for op, Fiat 500 Abarth if you can spend more.

If not then maybe an 06 Mini Cooper JCW?

i think out of the cars you've listed, the Volvo C30 is the winner.

A mini and a VW will probably not be as reliable as the Volvo in the long run.

With your price range, you are probably looking at an early c30 2.4i (NA motor). There is the T5 with loads more power, but a turbo requires premium fuel and more maintenance in the future.

Having dealt with Volvo's, The c30 is quite reliable. It's a fun drive, safe, and will probably hold its value pretty good.

FYI, I think as of 2013 the C30 will be discontinued from the Volvo line-up due to the lack of sales...

I like the Allante in the background.

I'd go for the C30. Nifty little car.
