Thoughts on a 01 hayabusa?

Been debating on a cbr r1 or a really good deal on an 01 hayabusa
Just looking for more experienced riders feedback/info on it.
I havent been riding for very long but i dont plan on using all 1300cc anyways lol.

i'd just go for a regular literbike if you really want to move up that badly. the busa isn't nearly as nimble as a cbr1000 or R1, and has enough torque to power wheelie in 3rd gear. so if you're not planning on using the 1300cc then there's really no point in getting one imo.

I've ridden a busa exactly once, and for about 30 minutes. I realized, that unless you want to only go in a straight line, or do wheelies all day, just get a 1000 class. Plenty of power, and as already mentioned, much more nimble. I ride a 954 everyday, and it flicks like a 600, with all the power to get the rear tire wiggly coming off a corner. I can't see me ever needing anything bigger. Nor would I want anything bigger. However, the busa was slightly more comfortable than my current seat....

Thats what ive been thinking, and a few other friends who have said 600 is more than enough.
If it matters id be getting the busa for less than 4 o.o

^ if you are 150lb asian, 600 is more than enough.
An old friend of mine who's white, 260lb and 6'4. My old R6 to him is like a 250cc cruiser

^ LOL well im a 6" 200lb asian i guess weight and everything works with it all too?

noraath 04-14-2012 08:19 PM

^ I'm 6'1" and 175 on a 1000 class. In my prime, I was 6'1" and 215 on the same bike. You'll be fine on a 1k

honestly with our busy roads, strict driving laws and low speed limits. Id get a gsxr 750 max , a regeared 750 will get you from a to b just fine ;) . I personally think a litre bike or higher is such to much for bc.

I was thinking that, thanks for the input rs:Di may just pass up the busa.

SaviorSelf_666 04-15-2012 04:20 PM

I'm 5'6" and 220 lbs. I find the 600 to be quick enough for me. My buddies GSXR 750 was really really nice to ride tho.

Depends on your riding preferences yet. If you don't know if you will need a busa yet or not, then it's probably a safe bet to not get one.

It's a hyper cruiser.. as in, it's good on the highways. Plenty of power on the lower powerband to cruise along highways all day but don't expect it to be faster than a 600 or a 1000. Even a 600 will eat up the busa on any road worth riding imo.
