just find out the actual cost of 1 ticket and pay him that.

Yeah.. if he was a good friend I'd be inclined to just give him the full cost of that ticket he bought. I'm more inclined to bail my buddies out than get "what's fair".

That said, I'd make it clear that next time something like this happens, he's on his own. This truly was a dumbass move on his part lol.

If your buddy made a $500 profit, do you think he would split with you for going out of yuor way to accompany him?

If yes: pay full amount
If no: pay $100

But from the sounds of it, he probably wouldn't of given you a cut, so screw him.

"friend" buys tickets in hopes of scalping.
you go help him/keep him company.
he cant sell anything
you offer to buy 1 ticket and watch game with him.
he still tries to get $200 off you?
WTF does $50 here $50 there mean? how does that = $200?

Fuck him! you did him a favor even taking a ticket at all.

You could have just gone home and said "sorry bud, better luck next game"

granted there is some miscommunication but at BEST he would have only got $80 from scalpers. Your friend is a douche. Scalpers are fuckers anyways.

Anybody who puts Money first in between friends, is not a friend.

If he offered it to you, then you owe him nothing. At that point, the ticket is a gift. If he asks for money afterwards, fuck him. You're already doing him a favor by giving him money for the ticket.

Fuck man, whenever I have a spare ticket and invite a friend, I just tell him/her to buy food and drinks while we're there (or lunch/dinner before/afterhand).

$100 is generous, IMO. $200 ... fuck that ...

The ONLY way I would charge a friend the cost of the ticket would be if he were there at the time I was buying them and agreed to go halfers on the tickets.
