I've had Granville Island Beers: Brockton Ipa, Pale and Winter Ale and Island Lager, Honey Cypress
The GIB Raspberry beer is sweet, if you like that kind of thing would do you good for this hot weather.
But to compare it to Bowen Island beers: Ipa, ale, and lager, there's more of a cripser taste in the bowen island beers, though thats imo.
As for the good beer, Chimay is always a soother on a nice hot day. A bit pricey but worth it knowing where it came from.
And if your in the mood to try some good, fruity beers or just any beers, should check out: St. Augustines, Commercial and 7th, they've basically got their own brewery, tonnes of beers and when you go to the washroom (men), theres a tv that tells you how much beer is left for each type whether its the stout, ipa, ale, good pub food too

I tried Big Rock Rye & Ginger recently.
My overall impression of the beer was good, but definitely not great. I'm not sure if I'll purchase it again, but I'm leaning slightly towards not.
Some notes on it..
-It has a nice moderate carbonation, and leaves a slight tingle on the lip.
-A very nice malty taste, I think this would be my favourite characteristic of the beer.
-The ginger taste is very subtle, but present. I didn't find myself having to search for the taste. I would have preferred a bit more ginger flavour.
-Slightly more present than the ginger is a lemon citrus flavour, which worked well but I would have liked a bit less of it.
Worth trying if you're a curious beer nerd. |

Planned to stop by the liquor store tonight. ^Probably give that a shot too.
Glad to know I'm not the only one trying these random beers. My friends always made fun of me whenever I brought over a 6pack of something they've never heard of

That Imperial Ale is TERRIFIC. Did you grab that from central city? I had no idea its in stock. That is the best IPA in the North West in my books.
The regular IPA on draught is good as well but the imperial is more balanced.
I find too many IPAs place too much of an emphsis on being way too hoppy.
You should also try Eclipse of the Hop from Howe Sound.

Beer lover here, tried the Red Racer White Ale yesterday and loved it. Definitely enjoyed it more than Rickards White and the GI Hefeweizen. Will be giving there other beers a try this weekend. |
