for example, before gossip there was plush, before boss there was atlantis and before was wett bar, before fabric there was sonar...

Funktion Fridays @ The Big Bamboo and Daddyo's. The hydraulic cages were quite something for us when we were 19. Now, condos are on that block (the Denny's is still there though.)

A few off the top of my head:
- Sonar - Grande Wednesdays
- Purple Onion on Saturday nights
- Pure (or whatever it was called) on Kingsway
- Viva Club in Richmond
- The Shark Club on Lougheed (where Joey now is)
- The old Bimini's (before it burned down and became a Donnelly Pub)
- Plaza for the first couple of years (great house music on Saturday nights)

^ The Wild Coyote was a fun place - forgot about that one.

I was on Granville Street on Saturday night to meet some drunk friends and my, what a gong show that place has become. There are still some decent places left like the Roxy and Bar None, but I feel sad for the kids these days.

The Shark Club used to put the tables away on Saturday nights and bring a DJ in.

Here's another one: the current Red Room used to be "The Drink."

And can we start discussing the many gentlemen's clubs this city used to have?
