In regards to this, and I guess depending when the food will be dropped off.. My work volunteered with the food bank in surrey a couple weeks ago and what was learned is that at this time of year fruit isn't given out...

If this is possible (miss c feel free to chime in) if we could look at a lot of fruit being donated that would be awesome... I know it's hard cause fruit is so perishable but thought I'd pass this info out

Ikea's covered parking sounds good. Well, until at least Belaud shows up and causes a earthquake with his stock car.

I'm down for it being moved to Richmond Ikea if it rains.....but....isn't Ikea kind of busy on weekend evenings and would they have problem with like 50-60 people loitering in their underground parking lot?

I really hope it doesn't rain...im kind of looking forward to a great turn out

Would security be a problem at Richmond Ikea? Had a meet with some Accords at Ikea Coquitlam but they said we can't venture to some parts of the lot with cameras or else we'll get kicked. The meet was like 6 cars D=

What I'm worried about is being able to even find parking at Richmond Ikea...

@swfk

At the ikea coquitlam, we always stay at the very edge of the parking, if we venture into the deeper and more quiet area, security come out and kick us out.

we have cars up to 15 before and never gotten any hassle by the security. As long as u ain't doing stupid thing. Should be fine! Remember they are watching us through all the cameras

Don't worry about parking. If the meet is @8pm? People are leaving by 7:45 ish. It will eventually free up.

Hey guys,

I understand the weather may not cooperate (let's hope it does!) While some of you are eager to have this meet, I highly suggest we do not move the meet to the Ikea Richmond location.

The reason is simple - we are invading a private space. With the amount of people signed up and the growing interest of the Stock and n00bie meet series, there may be more people than we expect. If something goes wrong tomorrow, it sets a bad precedent, ruining future meets for other clubs. This is not what we want.

If the weather does in fact not cooporate with us tomorrow, El Bastardo and I will simply have to postpone the meet. Any meets held at Ikea Richmond tomorrow are not endorsed by Revscene, El Bastardo, myself (bcrdukes) or any Adminstrators/Head Mods.

Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. Keep checking the thread tomorrow for a final announcement! Thanks!

We'll make a final determination tomorrow and announce it officially in this thread and via Twitter. Expect an announcement around noon.

The idea of Ikea has been brought up before and while its okay for informal meets like the ones we had at Ikea Coquitlam (where a dozen or so people showed) a meet where we have 100+ members is not okay. All it'll take is one guy from a site like Vancouver Underground to show up and do burnouts, parking lot drifting, or C-Lai style bumper cars (keep that to the Aberdeen parking lot tyvm) to smear the good name our meets have.

Not to say anyone here would do that, but we're not going to take the chance that a hater will show up and crash their riced out Cavalier into a BMW X5 because they wanted to show off for the chubby girl in the Hunger Games t-shirt who just bought a fancy lamp.

We'll keep you posted and send word out at noon tomorrow.
