Help! Bricked Galaxy S2 LTE (i727R)

Hey guys,

So a flakey USB cable has caused me a world of grief.

Last night I tried to update my OS to Ice Cream Sandwhich and part way through the udpate, the usb cable decided not to work.

Now the phone has the (phone)---!---(PC) error image and I can't get it into download mode to use Odin to restore the phone.

I've tried just about everything.

Has anyone had this problem or could recommend a place that would be able to repair it?

TIA!

Have you tried doing a hard reset?

Most droids are volume down + home + power button (once the phone is powered off)

Do those jigs for the SGS1 work for all Samsung Galaxy phones? If you haven't tried that, it's worth a shot. They'll get you into DL mode automatically.

In case you don't know what I'm talking about:

How to Make a USB Jig for your Galaxy S2! | Galaxy S2 Root

You can make them if you're in a rush, otherwise I'd order one in.

Tried it about a million times. I can get to the warning screen that notifies you that it will go into download mode and gives you the option to continue or cancel. But when you choose continue and it just goes to the error screen again.

Yeah I was looking into that... but I'm hoping I can get it solved quickly haha.

Nope, stock software.

Using ODIN, someone said that it should be able to reset anyway, but it didn't work for me unfortunately.

Odd. When I had my SGS1 I was still able to use Odin with that error message. I'd try making the USB Jig. shouldn't take too long.

Whew... friend of mine was able to fix it. Not sure what he did as I wasn't there... but I wasn't smart enough to figure it out myself. :P

Thought I was going to end up with a paper weight.
