I am going to ask the mother of my beautiful twin boys to marry me (officially LOL ) I was thinking of slipping the engagement ring onto her finger while she slept and a letter asking her to marry me on her pillow when I went to work (who knows I might still)
but I wanted to see if you crazy people had any other ideas to make it as memorable as possible while not spending sooo much on it (especially since I'll be selling my soul to get the ring)
If your woman is like mine.....leaving a note would be a bad idea.
Most women want it to be a moment that the two of you share and is something special.
Catch her off guard but make it special....IMO
You know your woman the best tho...if you think she will enjoy the surprise of the note and ring then more power to you.
me and my finacee had talked about it for awhile. then when she picked the ring she wanted she knew it was happening soon.. so to keep the suspense up..
I would pretend to proposed every couple weeks.. so she would be totally caught off guard when i actually did..
It worked great.. aside from her smacking me everytime i faked it.. lol.
she was caught off guard when i did it for real. and she didnt believe me till she opened the box and saw the ring.
not so long ago on a forum, this was what happened, a guy and a girl were in that stage, so the guy wanted to do something special. well it epic failed cause ... here goes. Both of them are into anal / fisting / and the two combined, so the guy thought it was funny to put it up his ass of some sort and when they are hot and heavy the girl would pull out the ring... well... that epic failed.. .that was a few yrs ago on a muscle forum and the guy was looking for help...

Is that after you chloroform her? Sounds like rape, but with marriage.
Off the top of my head, how about a weekend getaway? Get your kids to keep her busy somewhere (how old are your boys?) while you set the scene in your hotel room, and pop the question when they come back!
(I just got back from vacation so my mind's still in holiday withdrawl lol )

Depending on the age of your kids, I would highly recommend you incorporate them into it some how, especially if they're old enough to understand what's going on and are able to keep a secret. To be honest, I'm far too tired to think of any suggestions, but I personally feel that getting your children involved would make it that much more heartfelt than any generic dinner/romanticboardwalk/brunomars proposal could ever be.
create a scavenger hunt for your boys to do with their mom and as the last item that they are hunting for have it as the empty ring box when she goes to pick it up and turns around and gives you the wtf look get down on one knee
