Enbridge Pipeline

What is everyones opinion on the pipeline?

Personally i'm no greenpeace hippy or anything like that, and i'm all for progress but i dont see the benefit as individuals for this pipline outside of the work generated to build it

There will be no benefit for your average BC citizen such as Albertans getting yearly checks as part of the oil sands, and the risk of spills are extreme as currently there is no effective way to clean up the "heavy" tar sands oil which essential sinks while your standard oil such as the BP spill and Exxon Valdez stays mainly on top of the water

Exxon Valdez is at 7 billion in cleanup fee's and still counting to this day

So really, where's the benefit for BC? i dont get it

Im all for it only if we're compensated generously.
But knowing how greedy and corrupt oil companies and bureaucrats are. We wont see anything.

Its a non-issue now. The Natives got paid to keep their mouths shut. The 10 per cent equity ownership for the First Nations who signed the deal will give them about $280 million over 30 years.

Albertans get yearly checks for their oil sands? I've never heard of that. Please explain.

People aren't comprehending the amount of money this could bring into Western Canada.

If we can show the investors that things can go smoothly without too much political interference, these LNG projects could move 1 Trillion into Western Canada over the next 15-20 years.

more like 85% to Alberta and the rest to western Canada

They should put a clause in there saying that clean up is the responsibility of Alberta or the Feds and not strictly BC if shit does go wrong.

That's only if a spill can be fixed 100% back to normal. In some cases, damages can be permanent, wouldn't it?
