Scratches on headlight

So I saw some DIY online for polishing headlights; 600 grit, 1000 grit, 2000 grit wetsand, then polish.

From here: VWVortex.com - DIY: Polishing PLASTIC...like headlights and tailights!

Problem is, I can't get the 2000 grit scratches off my headlights. I went at it with Meguiars ultimate compound and then PlastX but there are still fine scratches visible. It's not enough to impede light, but sort of annoying.

Does anyone have any suggestions to what I can try? Stronger compounds? Shop?

Where can I find this black pad?

I know Autowerkes has them, but Maple Ridge is a bit of a drive...does anyone know where I can find one, closest to Burnaby area?

Not sure where you can purchase retail. Lordco only has Meguiars at highly inflated prices. Try KMS tools if there is one near you.
