Looking for people interested in playing some beginner ice hockey

so, few friends and I are renting a rink @ 8 rinks on monday August 6th from 11am-12pm.

We only have 10 people so far.. and thats about it. looking for more people that are interested in getting into ice, not really looking for any pro players because all of us cannot skate.... by that I mean we can only skate forward, can't skate back efficiently, stop effectively, etc.

this is our FIRST game on ice ever. Trying to move from floor to ice... We will not have people in full gear. Generally everyone is going to wear probably volleyball knee pads and a helmet and maybe gloves and pray lulzz. Or be renting skates and a helmet from the arena (thats how new we are)

Goalies are also not geared for full protection of ice because no one in our group has ever played or is expected to be able to do 100mph shots lulzz. (Personally i trip and fall when i try to slap lulzz)

So, if you're interested in coming, PM me and i'll give you my # and fill you in with the details.

Costed 110 to rent for that hour.. and we'll all be divvying up the fee in the end.

Great opportunity to meet new people and maybe finally see if ice hockey is anything you thought it was to be.

We're also renting a gym @ renfrew community center for 2 hours tomorrow for floor hockey at night if anyone is interested.

EDIT: Nvm forgot Monday is BC DAY, so I'm down. PMing you now OP.

Yes, its a opportunity I've waited 10 years to try... a lot of people are having the hopes if they enjoy this they are thinking of getting full equips and going to drop in @ the local community center to learn and practice. should be quite an entertaining game

Richmond Ice Centre now has beginner/senior drop in hockey on a regular basis, mon-fri starting at 1130. Really friendly group...i was there nursing an injury, so i went for a skate with them.

@KrAyZiE TRD not 100% sure.. the guys i played with we all joined the VACHL so now we pretty much have a game weekly.

@RayBot yeah the beginner drop in is pretty good, but those old guys (with all due respect) are friggin fast still lol.. but that was when i couldnt stop or really go fast and everyone looked like a god on ice to me and isnt the beginner only tues/thurs @ 1130.

well guys, if anyone is still reading this post.. i told my cousin about some people asking about this beginner hockey thing again, and hes down to organize another.. sooooo ROUND 2. whos interested in playing during the holidays?

although, since this last post, our skill levels have gotten better, its no longer the case that we can't stop, or skate backwards anymore but we're lazy people pm me if you're interested, if we see enough people interested we'll try to get a date for everyone (i'll assume most people will be free at night)

http://hockey.ehlun.com/

Site still in development lulz, cousin making it but he should sooner then later include a sign up list to see people who are potentially interested

Signed up on your cousin's site.
Unfortunately, because it asks for such specific times/days I can't predict that far ahead yet...
