How long have you had this bike? Did you buy it from a Russian guy? I'm pretty sure this was my cousins back in 2008 lol

In NYC everyone does this. The trick is taking your plate with you. Let us know how it goes!

Also just in case you didn't know -- underground parkades give massive discounts for monthly motorcycle passes. And you get to park in the no parking yellowed off zones!

I park my bike at my office building for $59 including tax where cars pay $150 plus tax.

With bicycle racks, the stance is city property = guaranteed ticket and/or tow. Private property = owners discretion.

There are spots on city roads where motorcyclists seem to be able to park for free all day. One is on Cambie just outside the Easy Park lot near Pender, and then kitty corner to that at the veterans park too. There are bikes there every single day, all day. I'm sure there'll be something like that at various corners around the central core.

Lionel who's an instructor at 1st Gear Motorcycle School used to be City of Vancouver bylaw enforcement officer in one of his previous lives and says that you could park on the street between parking spots and as long as one person in front or back of you pays, you're technically paid for. But there's no guarantee it'll be like that all day. So paying $59 for an underground spot is the easiest thing for me. Plus I have a dry seat to sit on if it's been pouring rain all day.

it doesnt make sense to me, if the motorcycle isnt taking up any of the bicycle spots and is off to the side we should be able to park. ill check on the underground parking discount for sure. if the bike rack is on my work property though thats not considered city property is it? anyways, i found this link on all the motorcycle parking spots and meters in the city hopefully this helps some of you out Motorcycle and scooter parking | City of Vancouver

Your gonna get a ticket or towed.

Best is to go to those parking lots with the Arm lift gates. Claim your ticket and then typically the exits you can just drive right out without paying..

In that 2nd pic where the scoots getting ticketed. I don't know why the city doesn't just paint motorcycle parking lines on the sidewalk there. Not like anyone walks there anyways. Who the hell walks along the cub to have to dodge all lamp posts and trees.

Also the scooter being towed was dragged out of its spot. So be aware that tow trucks don't give a shit about your bike.

so i went to work and asked the managers about the motorcycle discount for underground parking. they said aslong as i dont take up any stalls i can park my motorcycle anywhere in the parking lot for free, aslong as its not in the way of the pathway or cars. for example the spaces between the pillars. im assuming this would apply anywhere, cuz every underground parking lot ive been too has these empty spaces im talking about and aslong as your not in the way of anything you should be fine

safer not to assume anything.
your work lot is fine as they say it's okay. the next lot may not be as accommodating.

Score! And yes regulations will vary from lot to lot.

Reminder that YVR has free motorcycle parking, on Level P2. Just ride around the arms and park in the northwest corner of P2 in the designated motorcycle area. Do the same when you leave the lot.

Surrey Memorial Hospital - free parking in the designated motorcycle spots.

Don't risk it on the city streets in any municipality.
Friend parked in the yellow triangle in New West by Douglas College and there were no signs that said that he could not park there and he still got a ticket.

How horrible. A woman in SoCal facing charges after allegedly running over and killing a motorcyclist in a road rage incident. RIP Rider.

Woman accused of hitting, killing motorcyclist in fit of road rage | San Diego 6 News is the source for breaking news, local and exclusive community-based stories, weather, entertainment, and deals. Get the latest updates on news, weather & traffic,

A Facebook support group has popped up by people affected by this woman's anger issues.

It's not totally clear what happened leading up to this altercation which lasted several miles but he did kick her car at some point. Now I've been guilty of raging against drivers on my scooter several times in the past but realized it wasn't worth it getting myself worked up and angry and potentially meeting a nutjob in a cage. Stay safe and have fun.

Doesn't matter what happened earlier, the reaction of KILLING A HUMAN BEING is never the appropriate response. She was in a protective steel cage. Obviously no imminent threat (unless motorcycle had like a gun)

Never. While none of us would do so, you never know who's behind the wheel of that cage next to you. I sometimes wondered on my 49cc scooter if some guy was going to have enough of me and run me over. The thought occurred a couple of times.

Jackson has been accused of aggressive behavior before, according to court records. Two ex-boyfriends requested temporary restraining orders against Jackson in 2012 citing similar harassing behavior, including threats to kill them.

One ex said Jackson threatened to run him over with her car during an argument and then proceeded to drive at him in a parking lot, according to his restraining order application. He said he had to push off her hood and jump over a fence to get away.

The other man accused Jackson of calling him at least 72 times in a single day, leaving threatening voice mails, and trying to climb through his bedroom window.

I just ordered a helmet from canadamotorcycle.com, I didn't realize they had free shipping over $50 which is pretty awesome, and once you convert the currency even before shipping and duty fees they're very close in price. Thanks again for pointing me to them.
