There's a shock (extreme sarcasm) Their customer service seems to always be at either extreme, really great service or the absolute worst experiences of your life. That's why I never shop there.

I second this. I've read horror stories about their service but to be honest for the times I've been there, Nathan and Aaron has always treated me very well. I can't complain personally but YMMV I guess?

I think most people are happy with Aaron / Nathan otherwise the store is a fucking bust with how his father handles everything.

Bayside is also absolute garbage, to be honest there aren't that many good stores here.... This is why Revzilla is thriving.

Never been to Modern yet, I take it they are one of the few Suzuki dealers around?
I've been to bayside once before... Reminded me of a Value Village or Salvation Army shop. Pretty ghetto, just like their logo.

Ya I've never had any issues other than this.... and they told me ahead of time that their AGV shipment would be delayed but I didn't think 2 months haha

It's possible the problem is on my end for not reaching out to them since boxing week

My thoughts are this... You can get parts out of Japan in less than a week. unless it's backordered, there's no reason a local business should take longer. And I've worked with a few other smaller shops with the practice of giving their buddies deal while ripping off everyone else to cover the difference. Guess it's no different in the motorcycle world.

There's also the cost of shipping. Lots of shops like to bundle their orders since shipping is so damn expensive in/to Canada. But 2 months is a crazy wait time, and no follow up doesn't really help.

I've only bought a Sena from them and a bunch of extra mic booms over time, so I cant say i've had bad service as everything was always in stock. The one thing i've always noticed each time i've gone there, is that the item i'm purchasing just happens to be on sale.. LOL

In the end i'm still happy with their service.

I heard Modern is great if you're buying stuff but not so good on servicing the motorcycle itself.

On a side note where do you guys usually buy tires and get them swapped out? Will need new tires put on before the season starts so want to get a rough idea how much it'll cost.

I got my last set at the end of the season (still haven't even broke them in yet) from International supply and install, Power Pilot 3's were around $500.00. I got the set before that at Bayside and was roughly around the same. It's probably cheaper if you buy the tires separate online and find someone to install them but that's way to much work for me.

for those of you wanting tires - mspeed has their remaining stock still reflective of 2015 prices. all new tires coming in this year will have a 25% price jump due to our shit dollar.

I need tires... Loved my Michelin Pilot Power 3's, which Pirelli's would you suggest?

I don't ride in the wet, but will they be adequate for slow riding in 'oh shit' surprise rain, sprinklers and that kind of thing?

I have Rosso Corsa and I rode on HWY 17 with some drizzle. Still rode at speed no problems.
That being said I am a noobie as well....

sorry let me rephrase. you can ride at city speeds with no problem in the rain as long as you give yourself enough room to brake. but any kind of spirited riding can get you in shit, especially because your tires will most likely be cold in the rain as well. but that's also the case with pretty much any sport bike tire except the pilot power 3 (whose tread pattern looks like an all season touring tire).

in the dry the rosso corsa offers phenomenal grip, but at almost double the price of the dunlop Q3, and with 2/3 the tread life. the carcass of the tire is also noticeably softer than the dunlops - which translates into good front end feel for some people, or mushiness for others. the majority of people i've met on track swear by pirellis, whereas others just love the stiffer dunlops. for what it's worth, howard was consistently doing 1:55's at the ridge on his 848 with rosso corsas with no issues, which is almost podium pace for the WMRRA novice racers that are on slick tires.

Hello there neighbour. Saw you drive by on my maintenance run thanks for saying hi. Be careful out there as I skidded like a mofo the whole time. Fishtailed for like 30ft off my driveway. Was feathering my throttle like a 250... couldn't really get past 3k RPM.
