I did it -- bought one of my dream bikes!

It is my fifth bike in five years but certainly one I'll be hanging on to for a long time

Ended up getting my gear from all over the place.

Burnaby Kwak was my favourite place. Only got boots there, but the guys were super helpful and ended up just chatting for a couple of hours #homointended

Got my gloves from Holeshot, mostly because they had the colour I wanted. Me and my brother went to go check out some bikes there, came out with the mittens. Ok service, gave me a discount as I'm a PRS student.

I bought my pants from Daytona Motorsport in Surrey. I have a family friend that works there, and they had a pair of leather alpinestars that fit. Got a good deal on them. Can't wait to check out their new location soon!

I got my jacket from Modern Motorcycle. Great guys there. Should have bought everything off of those guys as they throw together some wicked deals. Saved me nearly $80 alone on my jacket.

Where can I find out more information about motorcycle track days? What are the gear requirements - or does it depend on the organization hosting the event?

Worst decision I've made this summer was to ride my friends 600cc. Could never look at my Ninja the same knowing there's so much power and smoothness available in a bike.

Would never be able to ride a supersport though as its just not comfortable for me.

So sold my Ninja and picked up the next best thing. 2010 FZ6R. 600cc I-4 with the seating position of my Ninja 400R. Effortless power with the comfortable seating position =

Theyre pretty much all the same. Full leathers, two-pieces are OK if they zip together. Snell 2010 Helmet, CE Level 2 Spine protector, Gauntlets, full size boots.

Some are more lax and will allow textile pants and aeroatitch brand gear.

Trackdays usually get posted on here or BCSB.

The maybe official quick motorcycle question/news not worthy of a new thread, thread

If anyone knows who owns this nice Yamaha FZR parked on 8300 French, it is going to get towed away.
I talked to the bylaw guy and he said there have been complaints about it because it has not moved in a while.
Owner has until 1pm to move it somewhere else.

If they can cut the chain. The owner used a kryptonite New York style chain and lock.

The bike already has two tickets on it.
Must have been here for a while b/c it has some cobwebs. Lol
This is the same bike that used to park beside BMO on 1400 w67. I would see it all the time going home from work.

So what do you guys think of the news at Skully that's just coming to light?

Failed HUD Helmet Maker Skully Spent Funding On Strippers And Exotic Cars: Lawsuit

"Highlights of these alleged “personal expenses” include:

The brothers’ personal apartment rent in San Francisco’s Marina district
-$80,000 in cash paid to an unnamed co-founder, hidden as expenses for a trip to China
-A weekend Lamborghini rental.
-A Dodge Viper.
-A second Dodge Viper, after the first one was in an accident.
-Four motorcycles
-$2,000 on limos in Florida
-$2,000 at a strip club called “De Ja Vu”
-$2,345 on paintings
-A first-class last-minute flight to Hawaii
-And a whole list of other grievances related to the Wellers’ alleged refusal to pay Faithhauer’s overtime.

In hindsight, Skully appeared to be kind of shady for some time. The company continuously pushed back its promised release date while sucking down $2,446,824 from Indie GoGo backers—that’s 979 percent of the $250,000 “goal” they “needed” to get running."

Went to Bowen Island on Sunday with the scooter homies. Our goal was to ride every road. Out of the 9 of us, 1 would lead till a dead end, then we would swap leaders till the next dead end and so on.

Ended up at one point down a super steep off road hill. Got to the bottom then had to work our way back up.. Michellin Power Pures are only good on the pavement.. LOL

It doesn't matter what you ride. Its who you ride with that counts..

What's a good price to to pay for a ninja 300 or cbr300? Planning to learn on this bike in Feb to Mar, so if its dropped by previous owners its alright. I can also wait for a steal over the winter if people even post bikes for sales during those times.

Usually a newer minty one is $4k+. You can find deals down to about $3000. Best time to buy is from November onwards. If you're serious I'd start looking around now.
