I was just at Bayside talking to Kev. He was saying that you can create condensation inside your exhaust system that can lead to rust. Either leave it on until fully warmed or just use stabilizer. I've been doing the run the bike once in awhile thing too but might go to stabilizer this year.

I'd be more worried about rust forming inside the exhaust at a low point where the water can collect.

As for storage, be sure to check your battery instructions before leaving it on a tender. Mine specifically states not to connect it to anything unless it's dead, in which case charge it up overnight but then leave it disconnected afterwards.

Does anyone know the best place to get motorcycle stands? Also would both a front and rear stand be needed for storing?

I picked up a rear stand from Bayside many, many years ago. I put the bike on that and put a peice of plywood under the front tire to keep it off of the cold concrete.

From what I know, you can add the stabilizer and just let the engine run for a good couple of minutes to let it get mixed throughout the system and you should be good.

You need to run it long enough that it gets into the fuel injectors/carbs, or else that gas can go bad and gum up the holes/needles. The bottle will have directions.

In regards to stands, I have them but have never used them for storage. There's no harm in using them, but one of my bikes is on dot race tires and even they were fine after 10 months sitting (had little flat spots you could feel for the first 3 minutes of riding, then were gone).

Alternatively couldn't you just roll the bike around a bit on dry days?
Or does it take more than rolling to avoid flat spots?

The maybe official quick motorcycle question/news not worthy of a new thread, thread

Good turnout at PRS' year end party this year. Looked like more people rode this year than last year.
Did anyone else here make it?
They had the Dyno again as well as a special machine to try a Harley.

As a newer rider who doesn't go very fast, here's what I've noticed compared to my r3

- power at the flick of the wrist it's scary
- seating position on the CBR is great. You have to lean forward a bit but it's actually better for my back. Big reason why I chose a Honda over everything else. On the R3 I actually hunched over a lot
- terrible on your left wrist but you learn to hug the bike with your knees a lot more.
- hotter / louder
- gauge cluster on the CBR is super dated with no gear indicator. But you're not suppose to look at it anyway so I guess it's a good thing

Overall, very happy with the upgrade.

Anyone here race at Greg Moore? I'm thinking of Picking up a Kayo MR125 race bike. Seems like the cheapest option to race. $500/year membership and a key to the track.. Its cheaper than track days.. LOL

Just looking for some insight before I start buying everything.. Already have a bike on the works..

Hate to sound like "that guy", but that's the way you're supposed to ride... Tight legs/knees(love your tank), but still loose and maneuverable, especially upper body.
A big part of it is committing it to muscle memory. you'll find it'll feel more natural the more time you put into it.

Does anyone know of a store where I can try on helmets, jackets and gloves that is close to South Van? Also what helmets would you guys suggest that's around 200 - 375?

Best place would probably be Pacific in Richmond...
As far as helmets go, the premium brands start at 450-550, although I think AGV may have an economy model around 399. So you'll be looking at Bell's, HJC, and maybe shark. Word of advice on gear though, You get what you pay for, so buy accordingly to how/where you're going to ride. Leather>Textile IMHO.

Get the one that is MOST comfortable that budget allows. Nothing worst than helmet pains while you're riding. Also very dangerous when you're frustrated and constantly fidgeting with your helmet and not paying attention to the road.

I would budget more for helmet than any other piece of gear.

Leather > textile interms of protection but textile > leather for warmth if you plan to do cold weather riding.

Good selection at pacific motorsports and always great advice from kathleen there.
