CBSA: Border Security

Sept 6 on National Geographic...

jackmeister 08-24-2012 03:12 PM

just like USA and Australia.

I haven't heard of CBSA chasing down people in the city.....

Yodamaster 08-24-2012 03:22 PM

I mean, it's fucking stupid to do this shit, but how stupid do you have to be to choose a building with a ton of border officers over a forest?

parm104 08-24-2012 04:03 PM

CBSA is getting more and more authority to take down criminals who want to take advantage of our Canadian borders.

They've just finished the process of gun training and new driving training similar to what the RCMP does.

Going to be an interesting documentary!

TypeRNammer 09-05-2012 01:43 PM

Can't wait for tomorrow :fuckyea:

46_valentinor 09-05-2012 04:27 PM

just wondering if there are any cbsa officers here on the forum as i have a question to ask.

wing_woo 09-06-2012 09:18 AM

I think pizzaMR2 is one

SoulCrusher 09-06-2012 12:17 PM

I was a bit disappointed with the first episode. They followed a couple of uninteresting scenarios - but I guess its expected when they are actual events encountered. Also surprised that they acknowledge officers by their first names.

I think the series has potential and think people will better appreciate what CBSA does.

Completely agree with this. Granted I've never driven down the border line of USA/Canada.. but there has to be TONS of un-manned and un-fenced border because of the mountains/forestry that Canada/USA share.

It's not like Mexico where they can build a 20' tall fence down the entire border.

It varies between 15 to 20 feet tall because the newer sections are 20 feet.

If you have a chance to watch Border Wars on National Geographic, the fence doesn't stop them as they find ways to get across.

With gaps of hundreds of miles in the fence. Easy to walk around the ends. Just like the deer/elk fences the NDP Govt installed along the VI Hwy 19. I should say "fence" as they only put it on one side in most of the areas. That really works well as all of the carcases on the Hwy show almost every day.

^^ Figured the fence wouldn't work.. To me it's just another excuse for dumping money somewhere to try to cover a problem instead of solving it.

Hey! History has proven that walls work!

I think everyone has nothing but nice things to say about that little doozy in Berlin.

The walls in Israel keep getting positive press, so lets keep that up.

The Maginot line(wall) in France did a wonderful job in keeping Germany out at the beginning of WWII...wait, sorry, just getting reports now, no in fact, the Germans drove around it.

SoulCrusher 12-28-2012 06:45 AM

Bumping an old thread here.

This showing will be airing on Global tv over the coming weeks. Also they have started filming for season 2.
