Heh...I once held my breath but then realised I was breathing through my nose midway. At least it went away.

I hope you mean sips because 9 cups is more than 2L!

iam_dan 09-24-2012 12:07 PM

1 sip of cold water hasnt failed me yet.

works instantly too

Meditate 30 seconds concentrating on peristaltic contractions of my esophagus for me.

HansonBoy 09-24-2012 03:43 PM

Problem with hold breath: many times you get hiccup when you eat too full. So when you hold your breath and you still get a hiccup, it feels really, really bad.

z3german 09-24-2012 05:16 PM

take a sip of water and drink it upside down.

I swear it works !

AW607 09-24-2012 06:57 PM

Does drinking pickle water/brine actually eliminate hiccups too? :suspicious:
I just hold my breath til the hiccups disappear.

exhale a breath, pinch your nose closed and drink as much water as you can until it feels like your drowning? it resets your esophagus.

works everytime for me.
