Turkey - Syria Conflict

Earlier today Syria shelled a Turkish town killing 5 people, supposedly aiming at rebels. Turkey has hit back with artillery strikes into Syria, and NATO are holding emergency talks

way to piss of one of the worlds largest airforces.

StylinRed 10-03-2012 01:41 PM

did syria do it or did the rebels do it pretending to be syria

Since atm Syria hasn't said they did it

may just be the west creating an excuse for going into syria

turkey has crossed borders in the past too when slaughtering Kurds

Hell they just did it in Iraq http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsCont...y-sources.aspx

The rebels don't have that kind of heavy weaponry, plus Turkey can track it via radar

U.S. officials told NBC News that as soon as Syrian President Bashar Assad gives the order, the country’s military will use chemical weapons against its own people.

Yesterday there seemed to be no firm evidence that the Syrians were mixing the “precursor” chemicals for the nerve gas sarin. The chemical weapon could be loaded into bombs that would be dropped from Syrian Air Force fighter-bombers. But on Wednesday, NBC News said, American officials came to believe the bombs had indeed been readied with the lethal agent. The sarin bombs were not yet loaded onto the fighter planes, however, and Assad has not issued the “go” order.
Secretary of State warned President Assad once again that he would be crossing “a red line” if he used nerve gas against the country’s rebels. But “there’s little the outside world can do to stop it,” one official told NBC News. Secretary Clinton, in NATO headquarters in Brussels, said the Assad government was “increasingly desperate” and on the verge of collapse. The 21-month civil war has cost 40,000 lives already.
“We believe their fall is inevitable,” Clinton said. “It is just a question of how many people have to die before that occurs.”
Next week Clinton is expected to officially recognize the main opposition movement, the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, aides told NBC News, and the secretary will meet with them in Morocco. Britain, France, Turkey and some Arab leaders have already recognized the opposition.
U.S. officials had long believed that the Syrian government was stockpiling the banned chemical weapons before it acknowledged possessing them this summer.
NBC News reported in July that U.S. intelligence agencies believed Syria had access to sarin, tabun, a chemical nerve agent, as well as traditional chemical weapons like mustard gas and hydrogen cyanide.
NBC report: Syrian leader prepares to use chemical weapons

For the sake of the Syrian people, I really hope this isn't true.

Also, here's a preemptive 'shut the fuck up CharlesinCharge'.

the reports of Syria using chemical weapons is rather odd and all over the news (or should i say western news outlets?) they've been saying he's going to use Chemical weapons but there's nothing that indicates that, that has been shown to the public anyway, and governments like Russia (who support Syria) say those rumors are baseless

but now all of a sudden we have Patriot missiles being deployed in Turkey and weapons/personnel being secretly transported into syria to support rebels (also a rumor)

and we also have members of the US govt. etc admitting that Al-Qaeda/Jihadists etc make up to the rebel groups

all throughout this we also have no clear picture/reasoning as to why this mess started other than "Bashar al Assad is killing his civilians" out of the blue? :crazy2:

Unless its the accusation that Assad mocks Islam and that got all the jihadists riled up? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...ails-show.html or maybe that was just propaganda to get the conservative muslims to go against Assad since he's an Alawite and there's dislike of his tribe already

the NBC report seems rather odd its taking rumors and presenting them as facts something that not even cnn/fox news has done

CharlesInCharge 12-05-2012 11:51 PM

Notice how western reporters roll with the none Syrian terrorist rebels,
and how this Russian reporter rolls with Syria's true freedom fighters

This. I'm quite suspicious about all of this as well.

Conspiracy Hat On: I get the feeling how fake all this is. Another reason for the US to supposedly interfere.

Makes me wonder though since Syria is not a major oil player.

this is the weirdest proxy war i've ever seen.

CharlesInCharge 12-06-2012 10:13 AM

A none Syrian army rebel released a video yesterday killing two rabbits with a chemical agent... if used in large amounts and civilians killed, this could be the excuse Obama is waiting for to launch strikes.

Isreal also recently announced that it would join any war against Syria if it was to break out and Syria announced that a war would create dire consequences.
