screenshots from some of the aerial reels i took this week
non-stabilized so i didn't bother de-fisheye/level the horizon
last pic managed to get golden ears and port mann in one frame (12km apart)
I'm quite tempted by the hero 4 silver.
These go pros seem alot more versatile than what I originally thought, but when I saw the price tag I died a little.

for the LCD, yes. If you're gonna edit them the higher res is nice, slow-mo is a bonus.
on a budget i'd rather just buy the xiaomi yi for $70 vs the cheapest GP at $150
Would you say that the Hero4 is a better alternative than the Hero3+?

We're these shots pretty much poit and shoot? Or did you set your ISO and white balance beforehand?

those are actually VLC player screenshots of a 4K30 wide video. I'm unable to take photos in the air without a gimbal. Most are set at Protune (GP version of RAW), WB auto, ISO 400, Sharpness High before I fly. I touched up the colours a bit in LR.
Has anyone managed to find any sort of protection for the LCD screen on the hero 4 silver? There doesn't appear to be anything available locally. Seems like the only option is to order from gopro - $15 shipping for a $10 item

Since the HERO4 Silver comes with a built in LCD screen at the back. If it is that you're looking for and its just a screen protector you can just cut a phone one or something.

That's what I'm looking for TOS'd. Unfortunately I've never had good experiences with cutting my own screen protectors. I'd rather it be cut perfectly to fit. I'm ocd like that

the Hero4 Silver has an LCD built-in whereas you need the LCD backpack for the Hero3+.
I don't think the Hero3+ back plate cover will be the right size for the Hero4 Silver LCD. I do have some spare screen protectors if you can get over your OCDness lol. Wonder if I can find dimensions for the LCD screen.

Rexall was selling sport Chek gift cards where you buy $50 gift and get $10 off. So I bought $500 worth(so I only paid $400).
Sport chek had a deal if you spend over $200, they give you a $50 gift card.
And if you sign up online for sport Chek new letter you get 10% off.
So $400-10%-$50 gift card = $350 for hero silver 4
Anyone ever have problems with updating their Hero 4 Silver? Turned on my brand new camera and attempted to update it with my phone. Everything was going fine until the camera starts flashing red lights, shows "camera updating" on the screen, turns off, and then repeats over again. Can't access any other functions and the touchscreen isn't turned on.
