It's not even a lot of snow this morning but traffic was at a stand still in front of the PNE. Cars with all-season tires coming to a stop on the hill for the lights can't get going again. I have Nokiaan all-weather tires on my truck and had no problems starting or stopping.

More snow expected around the Lower Mainland tonight - News1130

More snow expected around the Lower Mainland tonight
Several centimetres predicted

News1130 Staff Dec 18, 2012 10:03:56 AM

Snowy weather makes for messy morning commute
News1130 Storm Centre
LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS1130) - Winter isn't here yet but the winter weather is.

The morning commute has been a mess, thanks to snow falling in many places around the Lower Mainland.

"We knew this was coming; it was raining yesterday... we figured the cold air would leak down off the mountains," explains News1130 Meteorologist Russ Lacate. "It did -- we had some hail in the afternoon drive yesterday. It gradually changed to snowflakes late at night as the temperature dropped down to zero."

He expects the flurries and slushy showers to taper off today. "But tonight, a major winter storm will be closing in. Easterly winds climb to 50 km/hr, the temperature falls back down to zero, and snow will spread ashore throughout tonight, accumulating several centimetres."

Some businesses might actually make more money because of the snow. -can see some Vancouverites do a Costco run for snow shovels or winter tires.

Took 3 hrs to get from Coquitlam to Richmond this morning. All the roads in Coquitlam was covered in ice and not plowed. Saw lots of cars with all seasons stuck trying to go up hills.

Seriously, if you're going to be cheap or lazy to get snow tires, take a cab or transit when it snows and stay off the roads getting in everyone elses way.
low temp rated all season radials + 4X4 = no problems

i used to drive my civic with all seasons on it everywhere in the snow with absolutely no problem, FWD = a dream in the snow

it's idiots who cant drive that are the problem, i saw a chick today turning onto the freeway at 160th who had litteral TERROR on her face as she moved forward, seeing her on the road scared me, not the condiitons.
