Driving visibility in the rain

When it's dark and it's pouring rain, it's hard to see.
Especially when people don't turn on their head/tail lights.

A lot more accidents are happening in this weather.

I find it hard to see when you're turning left and approaching the pedestrian crosswalk because you got to make sure there is nobody walking in your turning lane.

So just be careful in this weather since there is a lot more rain coming.

This. Definately.

Even during the day, when it's dark I'll turn on my headlights/taillights just to make myself more visible for other people.

What I hate is how they use glossy paint for the lines, so when it rains sometimes it's impossible to see. I like the stuff they use in Washington, it's really easy to see even in the shittiest weather.

I hate the face that there is a lack of reflectors on every road. You would think in a city that rains so much there would be some incentive to use them everywhere. The states has them all over the place and it's so much easier to drive and not just on the highways.

thats why im surprised all these years, the government did nothing. The citizens didnt really do anything to bring up this issue.

I believe when hwy 1 is done there will be reflectors. Cant say the same for hwy 91 tho

totally agree. Its impossible sometimes to even know if there are two or three lanes because of the lack of painted lines and reflectors. Its horrible. The states have way better roads than here. The roads here are shit. You think since it rains 10 months of the year they would invest in improving visibility on our roads.

good pair of windshield wipers, paying attention to the road, some decent lights and a brain is all I need. How long have people been driving? You need lanes? Unless its a brand new road that I've never driven on, most of the time I can tell that I'm not in a lane just by being aware of where the fuck my car is on the road.

Very true but for me it's the other drivers that have no idea where they are on the road and drifting between lanes.

they need more reflectors on the street. I found they only have reflectors on some of the newly paved sections of road and thats about it.

North Road between Lougheed and Cameron is horrible with their new curved lanes. I've seen plenty of near-misses there at night time with ppl following the old (somewhat visible still) lines.

I can live with the fact that some roads aren't paved with lines or lines that aren't very visible due to the reflection when rain hits. I drive within a safe speed. But pisses me off when some piece of shithead is tailgating when it's already hard to see in these conditions, as though they are in a hurry to go to hell.

Heading north on Willingdon from moscrop to Lougheed, some of the lines just "disappear" when it rains at night
You will see people swerve into your lane, so they should install those reflective markers on the lanes there

On the topic of reflectors and visibility...has anyone noticed that the visibility has gotten worst around were the new Canadian tire got built on SW marine drive? I don't know if it's because of the new LED streetlamps but you can't see the lines at all when it's pissing rain.

Happened to me last night.

It's probably not wise to jaywalk in front of moving cars on a dark and rainy night at 1230am.. had to stomp on the brakes to avoid hitting them as I was coming around a curve.

rain + idiots with 6000K HIDs in reflector housings makes me rage so hard

1) You can't see shit because that stupid blue color makes it impossible for you to see through rain/fog
2) you're blinding me, you fucktard
3) it looks cheesey as fuck

Some days n nights, best to just stay off the roads if possible. You might be the best driver but that isn't gonna save you from the other jackasses on the roads.

I agree. That place is horrible in terms of lighting around the streets.

I've never used Rainx on my windshield yet rain beads the moment it hits my windshield. I use PIAA silicon wipers and I abide by them. They're the best.
