Vdara is super nice, we stayed there last year. It's nice because there is no casino. And there is a free tram that will take you right onto the strip.
BTW, if you're hungry late night, check out their room service menu. Their prices are actually pretty reasonable. The chicken strips were delish, you get five pieces and fries for like $12 I think.

I pre-drank at my friends room in Vdara last year, saw how nice it was and it is fairly cheap so I thought I would try it this year.
I don't gamble so there being no casino is defiantly nice.
Just booked my hotel at Treasure Island for $735 Jun 20-24. I haven't booked my flight yet since my friends were telling me that you can get better deals 3 months before.. I hope this is true. 2/3 of planning done

I'll post this again when the date nears, but some tips for EDC.
1) Whatever time you actually want to get into EDC, leave at least two hours earlier. ie. if you plan to see ___ DJ at 9pm, leave at 6:30-7pm the latest. I guarantee you will not make it into the event if you leave less than two hours before. The traffic and line up to get in is ridic. Every single night we never made it in on time for the DJ we wanted to see
2) Pool parties - Buy the pool party tickets as soon as they come out. They will go up in price. Also, if you buy them off the non-official EDC page (ie. through the actual club webpage) it will be cheaper. I remember buying the Above and Beyond pool party tickets off the actual club page for $30 and they were $50 if you went through the official EDC webpage.
3) Buying Merchandise - Buy it on the first day and go early. We waited until the last day to buy a T-shirt and they were either all sold out or only had XL + left
4) Wear running shoes. Don't wear slippers. Tell your girls in your party as well. The ground/floor is dirt, gravel, some cement depending on which stage. Therefore, the ground is very uneven. Your feet will kill if you wear sandals. Please tell your girls NOT to wear heels, they will literally be bitching the entire night.
5) First timers? Make sure you go through the MAIN gate. If you go through any other gate you don't get the view of the whole grounds. The view you get from walking through the main gate is an amazing site. (ie. VIP entrance, you can enter through any gate, so you'll miss the experience of walking through the main gate)
Depending on where you park, the main gate will be pretty far away. If you have to pick up your ticket at will call, you have no choice, but to go through the main gate.
6) Rent a car if you have a responsible driver. We took turns, so one of us couldn't go all out, but it's definitely worth it.
7) If you get back pain during regular events like I do, you're going to be in for a deathly time at EDC. It runs from dusk till dawn. My back kills after standing for a few hours. I found buying some insoles at shoppers/london drugs helps quite a bit. I also use topical analgesics now and this helps as it numbs my back, like ruba535 or biofreeze. It'll only last a couple hours at the most, but it helps when you're standing for seven+ hours. I have little travel/disposable packages so it's easy to bring in.
Also, I know you'll be rushed because there are so many DJ's, but try to make time to walk around the grounds and check out all the different things that are there. They have a ton of things going on.
if you're renting a car, go one stop passed the speedway. not many people go this way and it's faster than hitting the traffic jam on the backroad there.
