after i do the oil change for winterizing...should i start my bike and let the new oil run through the bike or just leave it?

rk604 11-30-2012 03:07 PM

you should put stabilizer and run the bike for a good 5min, lets stabilizer mix and go in the fuel lines too so you won't have a hardtime starting it next time

So do we have to ride the bike around after putting the stabilizer in? Or is just letting it run for 5-10minutes on idle good enough?

I always believed it to be good to take it for a quick 5 min rip and get it into the upper rpm ranges. Not sure if all bikes are the same but my CBR had secondary injectors for the higher rpm's so idling wouldn't get fuel into them.

My winterization of my bike was pretty limited and I never had a issue with it starting the next season.

-Oil change
-Stabilize
-Battery tender
-Up on bike stands
-Clean and lube chain
