Skinnypupp nailed it on the head for me. I haven't had a twinkie in well over 15 years but because there's this memory of it from being a kid I will go buy it this weekend and have a couple even though they really aren't that great.

Unless I had one at a young age, I just don't remember having a twinkie before. Might see what all the hype is later today and try one.

Lol, for me it's those cherry and apple pies. The sentiment tastes better than the product.

Yeah and I'm sure a lot of those 'french' snacks made by i-mei in taiwan when I was a kid was a far cry to the real thing...probably asian-ized to death but i love them.

Actually I tried flan for the first time the other day...way too sweet for my tastes...the consistency just doesn't stack up to the tongyi puddings..I was just getting desparate because I havent had them for like 5 years now :okay:
