Hey

I was wondering if anyone has worked for Costco before. Any feedback?

If it interests you to know I heard that the top hourly wage you can earn in Costco is about $27/hr

I have no idea what the starting wage is though.

Costco is a great company to work for.
Worked for the Richmond one for a couple of months.

I started at 13ish if I remember correctly. Sunday are extra pay days at $2 more an hour.
You dont get discounts; only a free membership.

I started working at a whse while going to university as an afternoon stocker / forklift driver

right before I finished school I got a job at the regional office... worked a couple years in an a few entry level positions there and now working as a buyer

good company to work for, good culture, good management, fair wages, well respected in the retail community

as an hourly you will start low double digits and top out at $25-$26ish depending on years of service and postion... and of course salaried management positions as they promote from within

You start at $11.75/hr now, with a $.50 raise after your 3 month probation. Sundays you make an extra $4/hr.

Flexibile- yes
It can be a bit hectic, though.

I wonder if any Costco branches are hiring at the moment. I just quit my job, am searching for a part-time position.

They start the seasonal hiring process in mid october or something, when I worked there I applied/was interviewed early november and I was told that was the last wave of applicants to be hired. So I'm sure they are well staffed already for the seasonal period.

If you want to maintain a part-time or even a full-time position after seasonals, let them know you are willing to learn cashier. Since someone that is trained at multiple jobs will have a better chance of receiving and offer for further employment.

EDIT: the typical jobs for seasonal workers are unpacking/packing carts for customers, gathering stray carts in parking lot, lining up carts at end of the night/keeping parking lot tidy, putting items back where they belong at the end of the day, stocking shelves at the end of the day, disposing cardboard in compactor. there might be more but it was a couple years ago when I worked there.

very flexible with the hours.
Costco have began to be mostly looking for full time college/university students.
you need to be able to work under pressure, since during the holidays it can get insane.
seasonal hiring periods would be about end of march/beginning of may for the summer seasonal and early october for the winter.

I apologize for the thread bump from the past but I figured it makes more sense than making a new thread.

I am interested in working for costco and have sent resumes to several locations without receiving any replies. I've dropped by the Richmond location and asked where I could drop off a resume and was told to apply online.

Are there any current/past employees that can provide some tips on how to get your foot into the door?

Thanks in advance!

Hiring at Burnaby locations just finished for the spring/summer seasonal positions.

You just need to go there, grab an application, and hand it in with a resume.

Spoiler!

I want told most Costco's have already finished hiring for the seasonal positions and dropping off a survey that will be kept for six months doesn't guarantee an interview.

yes they do.
october/november for winter season
march/april for summer season

costco receives over 500 applicants each time. so if you did not get hired for the upcoming season you will not get hired for the following season. just keep reapplying.. and make sure u fill out the application form properly.
