Dark meat turkey

Is there a store in town that I could buy pre-roasted turkey dark meat only? As in, they sell dark meat / white meat separately.

Safeway? That type of thing?

I never really understood what people have against white turkey meat... If it's properly brined and prepared, it is way more moist than the dark meat!

I like both personally, for different reasons. Dark meat tends to have more flavour, but white meat has better texture

Butterball = the best pre-brined turkeys :sweetjesus:

The trick is to cook the bird breast side down for the first part...then flip.

It looks awkward being upside down, but the juices goes into the white meat to make it juicy!

Once you've had fresh turkey (NOT frozen) from the butcher you'll never want a butter-ball again.

you need to order pre-roasted turkeys days\weeks in advance.

i can honestly say ive never once had a turkey that I was ever like "omggggg this is so good!"

and my Grandma who typically cooks ours is an excellent cook, let alone like the 20-30 other families/parties/relatives who i've had christmas dinner with

ive yet to tried deep fried or BBQ'ed, but maybe i just dont like turkey, would much rather see this sitting on the table:

I would give safeway, IGA, whole foods a chance.

Getting a whole roasted turkey is as hard as it is (always pre-order in advance).
And getting dark meat only would make it even harder as the store that is selling would have to dibby up entire bird.

You might want to try some really specialized Chinese BBQ places that offers roasted turkey as they might make an exception for you at a premium. But gotta keep in mind they season the turkey differently.
