Your Job - How much Vacation time do you get?

Just curious as to how much Vacation time is available in general to everyone, be it paid or not

the company i work for currently has basically labour relation minimum, 2 weeks after 6-8 months of employment and 3 weeks after 6 years with the company, however I usually take a week unpaid off but it usually takes some ass kissing :/

Time off is a big thing for me in employment so i'm just curious what others get, also if you guys have some specific circumstances, ie. been with a company 10 years, availability of "Flex days" or "Sick days" please post that as well, and maybe what industry you are in?

13-15years, 5weeks 8% holiday pay

i work for coast mountain bus company. part time regular status. been with the company for 5 years. 3 weeks of unpaid vacation due to status but get paid out versus a full time regular (paid vacation). 5 sick days a year and it rolls over.

So you work 52 weeks, and you get 2 weeks off. Man we're being screwed here.

For us we get paid vacation after one full year of service.

If I remember correctly:
1-4 years = 2 weeks paid
4-8 years = 3 weeks paid
8 + years = 4 weeks paid

Gets capped out at 4 weeks.

Sick days are sick days, unpaid for us.

I get 25 working days vacation. But I work 5 days on 5 days off. So if I spend 5 days of leave I get 15 off so it's possible for me to have 75 days of vacation a year.

Hired last April and currently at 2 weeks paid.
I believe 1 week is added at one year hired status. The rest of the system I am not sure of.
The guys who have been working for 15+ years basically work 1/2 a year and get paid 3/4.

I do get unlimited sick days.
75% pay when I take one too.

when i say sick days, some people like my buddy who works for Vancouver School board can essentially take a week of paid holidays, then call in "sick" up to another 15 days in a row after that vacation, essentially extending his vacation time, however it's unpaid but you get a portion paid that is banked at the end of the year i believe

I get 40 hrs, so 10 working days.
REQUIRED to use 5 during summer shutdown (July). That leaves 5 days left.
About 3 days are required to use during winter shutdown (December). So 2 days left of our choice.
So I don't get two weeks of vacation straight.
Vacation days must be requested a year in advance.

Time can be taken off by "banking." This is done by working overtime and "banking" the hours instead of taking pay.

Sick days are non pay.
more than 3% absentee and we can be written up for it.
Complete bullshit.

I'm in a union and part time, so I don't get vacation or any of that jazzle. But my supervisors get 3-6 weeks with vacation pay, depending on seniority. Not sure about sick days. Working for Vancouver Parks Board.

Work at a lab, been here full time for 2, as co-op for another 2.

As full-time, I get 3 weeks paid holidays, 11 paid sick days, and any OT until 150 hours is banked and used. OT is banked according to labour law, so 1.5x hours for straight OT, 2x hours for holidays, etc. Anything after 150 is paid out. Get another week for every 5 years I think. Not sure if it caps out because this year our manager took a 2 month holiday in the summer lol

I must say, some of you guys seem to be getting some shitty vacation time

Start off at 3 weeks + 3 personal days which are pretty much the same as vacation days lol
We also get study days for professional exams
Sick days are unlimited as they are part of our STD (short-term disability) plan

Not sure how many days we get after working here longer but I know at some point you get 4 weeks (I think after 10 years) and even 5 weeks.

2 weeks paid, as much UPTO as I want, if I want.

Haven't taken more than 3 days off in 2½ years. First time off was 7 working days this Christmas break, since we decided to close for the holidays. It was nice to sit on my ass and do nothing for a week.

My company is almost the same but I think is something like
1 to 3 years 10 days
3 to 5 years 14 days
5 to 8 years 20days?
Also we get 10 sick days every year.
You can also carry your vacation days over from pervious years if you don't use all. So far I have over 32 vacation days left and another 14 days for this year...... so I have a totally of 46 days left LOL.

Yikes, didn't know there is such a huge variance in vacation days. I start at 4 weeks, then 5 weeks after 4 years, 6 weeks 8 years. Vacation days are paid. 150 paid sick days to start as well.

3 weeks paid vacation, sick days are sick days (unlim.), personal days are personal days (discretionary), all separate. been with the company roughly 1.5 years. However my company is very flexible with me.

But I never take vacation because my work is a vacation in itself
