Where to sell wedding ring?

Just wondering if anyone is aware of a place that will buy a diamond wedding ring that is both reputable and fair. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Where was it purchased from? Many jewellery stores will buy back wedding rings if you no longer need/want it, provided you bought it from them.

The place i bought mine offers buy back value. They mail me a letter frequently telling me how much i can sell or trade in for another ring. If u sell it else where , they normally offer around 70% of the market value, then sell it to someone else at market price.

don't know if this is the best way or most bang for your buck, but i'm pretty sure a jeweler will at least take the diamond back to reuse etc. if they want only the diamond, go to the u.s and sell the gold part at one of those cash for gold places...i heard you get more money in the u.s

the reason why a lot of pawn shops buy gold/silver and platinum is the intrinsic value associated with the metal, there is no intrinsic value in diamonds so that's why you're going to be in for a rude awakening when you try to sell it to a pawn shop.

you can go the route of selling it back to the jeweler but they give you shop credit and not cold hard cash.

Sounds like the OP has a friend or a gf that was engaged at one point and kept the ring and now wants to sell it.

Was this a wedding ring or engagement ring?

If it's the latter, I'd check with the ex first.

As far as law goes, the engagement ring is a conditional gift. The ex can sue for it.

If it's the former, does she have certificate for the diamond? A reputable certificate from GIA can significantly increase the resale value.
