Recommended 7" In Dash Navigation For 8th Gen Civic

Looking into getting an in-dash navigation for my 2010 Civic Si Sedan.

What would you recommend?

- Must have gradual dimmer settings for night time.
- Can change UI colour to match the Si's red lighting.
- Fast bootup time, responsive interface, accurate navigation.

Any way to keep my stock subwoofer hooked up?

With the CES 2013 show announcing new models, perhaps discounts to be had for 2012 models?

I wouldn't get the Alpine unit, was supposed to be a flagship product but can't even do bluetooth streaming.

The maps are like two years old.

Spend a few more dollars for something that you can keep for a few years.

There was a guy in my store today that bought a deck from FS at Christmas time for a killer deal. Now he will be without a deck for a month because it has problems. If he would have bought it from us for less than regular retail, we would have given him a brand new one, without hesitation.
We have great products with an over-the-counter exchange warranty. Don't want to be inconvenienced? Buy it from us.

I am pretty partial to Pioneer Avic Z series receivers. I have a Z110BT and love it.

Is the little detachable sideplate on the Pioneer X series really a deterrent for theft?

Trying to decide if I really want a 7" screen or if I'd be okay with the 6.1". Also, is HD Radio worth it for us in Vancouver? Could save a few bucks by going with the X850BT instead of the X950BH. The only differences that I can see are HD Radio and HDMI input, please correct me if I'm mistaken.

Can't really go wrong with Pioneer. I have both the AVIC-X940 and the Z140 in each of my cars and they are just awesome. Quick start-up , great screens and amazing interface. We will see what the new X850 and X950 will do to top the previous models. Otherwise I can't comment on them without seeing them first. Real-life performance trumps feature set IMO.

I've owned several after-market units in the past 6-8 years and time and time again, Pioneer has outdone the rest. I've gone back to Alpine several times because of the name brand and sleek body designs but in comparison, the Pioneer units are simply more intuitive and feature packed.

The Z series (I've only had the pleasure of owning one, the Z2) are the mother of after market in-dash units. I've never had a problem with Pioneer's navigation and love the fact that I can easily customize features by going to Avic411.com.

You might spend a little more on the Pioneer Z series but it will certainly last you several years and you won't be looking back regretting your purchase.

I'm considering the JVC model that was just announced at CES 2013. It has "Total Traffic" updates with traffic, news and sports. Anyone know if it'll work here? From what i can find, they do cover Vancouver.

I'm also considering their 2012 model, the NW-700 which I read has quick bootup, good features and nice graphics / UI.

I'm going to the JVC/Kenwood conference tomorrow. I'll get that information for you by Saturday.

Thanks Keith, I'll most likely get a KW-NT810HDT from you guys if all the "Total Traffic Network" features work here in Vancouver, keep me posted.

Traffic updates have not been available in Canada in the past. Hopefully the new JVC stuff will work here!

Sorry, it will work fine in the States, but Canada will not have this working for you. Blame the CRTC, your government control issue that wants the artists to get paid everytime that their song is played.

I think that you will like the other options that are out this year for the Android "Mirror" option. It's lightening speed on everything from GPS to menu screens will blow your mind!
Kenwood has some pretty cool innovations as well. They will be the first aftermarket company to offer WiFi in the car. We were playing with it yesterday. We were streaming video to the DNN990 and in turn, it was sent out through the airwaves to two other screens, making it the most unique & outstanding decks on the planet.
