I teared up a little when...

Spoiler!

Also, final battle...right up til the end I was thinking "You assholes better not mess with history..."

Also, also...so cool that they had a montage of the entire cast, including Andy Whitfield. RIP.

Lugo was such a bad motherfucker...he got a death worthy of that badassery.

Also, those of you curious as to what's next...the creator of the show is working on a sci-fi series for the same network. No word on whether they'll do another "Spartacus" but in a different era with a different cast.

Such a great series :'(. Definitely going to rewatch the whole thing. I think they should just make another show in this era, possibly focusing on crassus? Idk how interesting that would be.

I've always said that it'd be great if they could do one focusing on the first and second triumvirates

Caesar, Crassus, Pompey & Caesar, Lepidus, & Anthony.

Here's an interview with the Spartacus showrunner that explains how he ended up with the finale we saw.

LOL only people that watch this series will get it.

...and all the words I can think of for "FAIL" contain swearing...which, if we can't have in the titles of threads, I'm sure we can't have as buttons.

"Gratitude."

After thinking about it some more, I didn't think the last five minutes were very strong but the finale ended the series just the way it should.

And they did a great job of making Crassus and Caesar likeable characters...honorable men amongst the Romans who are mostly assholes. Caesar, in particular, is a great character...not quite good enough to build a spinoff from but still. I love that one-on-one fight with Donar where, after beating him, he says "Well fought, brother.". I admire soldiers that can make that distinction, that they fight for greater purpose than simple hatred towards the enemy.

I watched the finale 3 times already since last night because it was just too epic.

- One last fuck scene. I was afraid there would be no more titties but they squeezed one last scene in, no pun intended.

- Gannicus dieing by the cross was very fitting and it was nice to see him hallucinated and seeing Oenomaus his brother. Also seeing himself in the arena, bravo

- Not having Spartacus die on the battlefield I thought was an excellent move. Had he just fallen on the battlefield by the hands of Craccus would have taken a bit away from it I think. HE got a peaceful death with his people and got to be buried instead of being dragged back to Rome.

- Nice reminder about Agron being the last brother, I totally forgot. It was also nice to see him and his bf get away. At least someone did!

- I knew Spartacus was going to die, I mean we all did. I was sad, but when he said there's no better victory than dieing a free man I was ok with it. True that Spartacus!

- The ending credits were awesome!

I'm glad they followed history for the most part, I mean no one knows what really did happen to spartacus since they never found his corpse but nice to see that they didn't just kill him in a battle or something.
They made crassus a very likeable character, and they did a very good job of conveying the mutual respect crassus and spartacus have for each other

Gannicus' new gf was just perfection.

I like the ending, it was very by the book but quite exciting.

Lugo was one bad motherfucker.

Batiatus: How many men would you kill to see your wife again?

All the fucked up shit that happens to the people in this fucking series makes me glad that freedom in Canada is pretty much an afterthought.
