I'm 22. I grew up in a family that "made ends meet." I'm not about to have kids but from looking around at the generation population I can say that my kids will get MAYBE 50% of what they WANT.
If my kid asks for anything when they're going into Grade 6.. I'll tell them to get a job. I had one at that age and understand money VERY well. I didn't have such a great childhood because I worked my ass off to get what I wanted, but I'm happy now and I'm not a spoiled little prick of a kid.
You can spoil your kids all you want, as long as they understand what's right and wrong.. and understand that a credit card is NOT a unlimited source of money. (Yes I know LOTS of kids growing up thinking this right now.. it's fucking sad.)
