Driving with a damaged mirror.

Hello all, My mirror was destroyed today, As in hanging off the side of the car so I have it secured in such a way that it doesn't move. I went to a body shop to get it repaired, and they ordered the part and said it may be here tomorrow, Or Monday for sure. Can i get a ticket for driving "without" the drivers side mirror? I have to daily drive the car for work and school so i can't exactly just park it and wait.
Thanks guys.

i don't think you will have any problems. just use your eyes and turn your head.

You are required to have a driver's side mirror...however it is not high on the enforcement priority list. If you do a proper blind spot check that will show you more than a mirror check anyway. Just keep a low profile until tomorrow when the mirror gets replaced. If you have anything showing you ordered a new one and the delievry date that may also be useful if stopped. BTW...you really don't have to drive the car. What would you do if it was waiting for a new transmission? Then you could chose to do that for a couple of days instead and avoid any possible hassle.

Where can one get a copy of this list? ;)

It's kind of like being a Newfie landmine locator....you know, jump up and down on the ground with your fingers in your ears. The traffic version is to do whatever you want until you get pulled over & ticketed. The paramaters vary, depending on the time of day, weather, location, offence, how many tickets written so far that day, start or end of shift, proximity to meal break....that sort of thing.....but it will be fun. :fullofwin:

That link soundy posted, How are some people so damn cheap?! End of the day it cost less than 150 bucks to buy a new mirror and have a body shop install it.

in the interim if you must drive the car, go to dollar store or crap tire, buy and affix a convex mirror of any sort to the temp mirror housing.
