Where to sell jewellery?

Hey guys,

I have a necklace I would like to sell. Its 18k white gold and weights a little over an ounce.

It is worth about 1200$ in raw gold. Although I am not looking to scrap it (since I know with the markup they would sell a necklace like this new for over 4000-5000$).

I am wondering where is a good place to sell something like this? I have only bought, never sold! Tried a few places in the mall today and they didn't care much. I am not looking to scrap it either. I am hoping to get around 2000$

Lower mainland, Vancouver/Burnaby/Coquitlam. Preferably Chinese since it is from HK and the stamp is in Chinese characters

Thanks

if the gold is worth $1200, you will not get around $2000 for it

ppl buy gold the weight. So how much does the necklace weigh per gram?

I can easily get 2000$ for it. Its a 5000$ necklace..... Mark ups on gold jewelry is anywhere between 100%-2500%. I have seen bracelets in retail stores with less than 20$ worth of gold in them selling for over 500$ due to craftsmanship.

The necklace is very nicely made, good amount of gold in it and great pattern.

As I said, a little over a troy Oz at 32.5 grams. 1200$ raw and necklaces like this retail for 5000$ so 2000$ is not an outrageous asking price for it.

the problem you have is that, just because you like the pattern and way the necklace is crafted, doesn't mean you will find someone else that will.

you wont find any stores that will pay u more than 80-85% of raw gold prices.
18K gold is only going for roughly $31 per gram, so your necklace's raw price in weight is way less than what you think.

nobody cares about the design when buying a second hand piece of gold jewelry. sorry to burst your bubble.

Jellery store in Chinatown.
Or give it a try at the jellery store in Aberdeen Center.
Or bring it back to HK
style & design won't bring the value up since they will melt it down anyway.
They will measures the weight & go by current gold market selling price.
