Not pho, but I just had the "Beef 7 Ways" for the first time yesterday at Song Huong | Hate to say it but most of Viet cooking use MSG religiously...............no such thing as no MSG pho unfortunately.

Yes, however, it's about moderation or rather how much or little is used.

Hence the "TOO". Quote:

I found Thai Son's noodles to be too soft and mushy. My friends seem to love it though. Maybe I just went on a bad day.
Hoi An's #1 and #2 are awesome, but their pho is a little bland.
Also. Usually I'm not much of an LG guy, but holy fawk@your dp.

The Thai Son in Vancouver, in the TNT complex on 1st and Renfrew is pretty bland.. mushy noodles and watery broth, maybe gotta try the one in Richmond to see if it's any better.

The one in Crystal Mall (Green Bamboo) has massive portions, but the broth is a little watery. I usually go there when I'm starving like a motherfuck and taste is my second concern.
Then there used to be the one in the IGA square across Crystal Mall called Pho Century. They moved a dozen blocks down towards Edmonds, and the food is still great. I used to go there a lot during high school (I went to Moscrop).
Lastly, I find Pho Hong has the best bang for your buck between taste and portion sizes. They throw in a lot of meat! But the place is usually packed during meal time and isn't the cleanest. Service is shotty as well. | Glad you still think food is great
On the other hand, I like the bun bo hue from Song Huong and the chicken pho from My Chau.

Those who say Cafe Xue hue (sp?) and Song Huong having good BBH need to try the one at Thai Hang. I've tried both and thought it was mediocre, but I would say Cafe Xue Hue was slightly better than Song Huong.
Thai Hang is currently closed for vacation, but is reopening on March 1st.

Their pho is trash, noodles taste like rubber, only good for dry and spring roll be warned.
