If they find/track this guy, wouldn't that be a hit on bitcoins in general? I mean, isn't the whole point of BTC that its anonymous? Why would we cheer if some guy on the internet was able to trace another guy on the internet through his BTC transactions from wallet to wallet? To me, I would feel safer knowing that they couldn't trace him successfully.

Bitcoin is pseudonymous, not anonymous. If payments couldn't be traced at all, it would be a shit show. That's kind of the point of it... Privacy, but not a shit show.

If your payment is "discovered" then just make a new one. If you are doing something automated like online payments, you can have it so a new number is generated for each payment. This way people can't see exactly how much income went into that number, etc.

Look at all these people here trying to get in on exchanges, waiting for days or weeks just to spend their own money. That is ridiculous (and somewhat ironic)...

Bitcoin eliminates this, but at the same time everything can be accounted for.

Isn't that inherently dangerous though? If you were conducting business through a BTC wallet, that means that your transactions can be traced throughout the internet?

China finally made an official statement on Bitcoin. They said people are free to use and trade them, but warned banks not to use them. This is probably the best case scenario right now

Nonetheless, watch for the ridiculous headlines in the media... the price tanked to like $800 for about 5 minutes and is right back up again

BTC-E was such a shit storm when that was announced.

Headlines by bloomberg and others made it sound like BTC is banned.

Prices are backup now, but now China has clearly told us what BTC is to them it's a commodity.

Wow truly the best case scenario for bitcoins right now... I wonder why that made the prices tanks tho. I would have expected the otherwise.

Driving me fucking nuts. Running BAMT to mine litecoins. 1x 7950 running at like 1000/1250 with good temperatures. Computer keeps rebooting after a short while of being active. Sometimes just stops mining completely and sits there. Anyone got a solution? Already tried dropping voltage from 1.25v to 1.175v. Same thing for both cards, a PowerColor PCS+ 7950 and a HIS IceQ Boost 7950.

Want to try Windows, but I will have to buy a new HDD and potentially PSU? Already tried changing thread concurrencies and intensity.

I would move past mining with a GPU and look for an ASIC miner. The speed of calculation to power consumption ratio of an ASIC miner will make mining worthwhile. You would probably lose money in electricity costs mining just with GPUs.

Barely any of my friends are tech-savvy..

Hope one friend has an extra as he's going to check when he gets home. I rather try Windows first than shell out money for another 750W PSU.

What do yyou consider good temp? You can never have enough air movement and ventilation. I have 2x 7950 installed with a pair of 110CFM fans to blow air onto them. It's situated next to a window that's been cracked open, and even with the cold air, the room is warm.
