Renters question Question for the gf and her roomie: They both live in a basement suite, upon signing the agreement, it says they have shared access to laundry. However, they weren't told that they can only use the washer/dryer once a week... Her roomie is a server/bartender and often comes home with clothes that could use a washing. Since the agreement never said they could only use them once a week, is there anyway they can get the landlords to keep the door to the laundry room open? Side note - the door to the laundry room has no handle/knob, it's dead bolted from the other side and can only be opened by the landlord, which has the 2 girls concerned and are hoping there's a way that they can have it so it bolts from the other side so the landlords can't just walk in or control when they do laundry...cause 2 women...1 day a week to do laundry...that's non stop laundry for the day... Anything they can do? Or are they shit outta luck here and just suck it up and move out eventually Posted via RS Mobile |
Have they tried simply talking with the landlord about it? Unless the landlord is a completely irrational person it should be a pretty simple process. |

Example, few days ago the toilet broke, so the landlords went out bought new parts for it and just handed them to the tennants. I had to go there and put everything together cause they didn't know how. Could they have just called a plumber and handed the bill to the landlord? Posted via RS Mobile |
I would fuckin move away. Landlord is a lazy dick. Leaving it for girls to do these things. This is a no brainier. Just fuckin move. |
If its not on contract then the landlord has to let them do the laundry whenever they want. He seems like a douche bag. Better to just move out. |
sounds like they might be in for a hassle with this landlord. They should be prepared and get to know their rights from the Tenants association. Worse case scenario is the landlord asks them to move if they show that they have done their research regarding their rights. |
