This goes to show how broken the "EU" system is. And I agree with 4444. Those guys are pure trash. And pretty stupid to not realize that they should be a bit more coy about it rather than being so open with a stranger about what they do.

Anyone know what the laws are like in Canada regarding stuff like this?

Its interesting to know what our standards are compared to the UK and other places, and definitely interesting for me because I had surgery myself several weeks ago. I hope none of the stuff used in my surgery was made in some back alley, or the parts put inside me for that matter.

I don't know, but I would imagine they're in line with EU and US standards, certainly not significantly higher.

I guess it's the risk we take, in having surgery, especially when healthcare is "free" - hell even when private, I doubt there'd be any higher standard (I'm a huge fan of 2 tier healthcare, but know it is really no better than a national system, wrt simple tools)

I am disgusted by the 'made in Germany' though, made with German steel, Yes, but made by uneducated Pakistani men/children, in dire conditions, and with Pakistani standards, thus made in Pakistan - that really bothers me
