20 fun facts about Justin Trudeau | Globalnews.ca

It looks like new life have been breathed into the Liberal Party!

I must admit...although the election is way in the future, I am pretty damn excited. I always tend to gravitate towards the NDP, but it was mostly because of Layton...I really think Trudeau will add some excitement to the next election. Oh, how I wish we didn't have to wait another 2-3 years...

murd0c 04-14-2013 03:22 PM

I'm just happy we don't have to vote every 1-2 years like we have been the past while.

The liberal party needed some young blood like him but hopefully he can live up to his words

twitchyzero 04-14-2013 03:22 PM

Im pretty sure I had him as a subsitute teacher in high school
wiki said he was a high school teacher at west pt grey and churchhill secondary

i just can't care about politics anymore in this country - the corruption and BS in BC politics has just left me so uncaring about who leads our country, from what I've seen they're mostly there for their own good.

I hope this guy is different, i really do, as based on what the conservatives have been doing in the public eye, liberals will landslide the next election (and i'm a staunch right wing voter).

as previously said, some young blood, new ideas, and new approaches are definitely welcome!!!

Gilgamesh 04-14-2013 03:35 PM

He'll definitely be more charismatic than the other Liberal Leaders before him and didn't he say he wouldn't take the reins back in 2012-ish since he didn't like the direction of Liberal Party?

Traum 04-14-2013 03:43 PM

In the past, I have never questioned whether Justin Trudeau will become the Liberal Party leader or Prime Minister of Canada -- it was simply a matter of when.

Having said that, I am not sure if he is really ready to step up into this position. With the erosion of the Liberal Party at the federal level, the constant in-fighting between the various camps since Paul Martin stepped down, and the relegation into the 3rd rank party that they are now, it seems to me that people have grew sick of the federal Liberals. Of course, I understand that this is really a last last ditch effort of the Liberal Party to fight their way back into relevance, so there may not really be a choice for Justin Trudea to put it off. And with Jack Layton's passing, the NDP has really lost their most valuable asset, and I question whether they (the NDP) can carry their momentum of the past election into the next one. So there is really no better time for Justin Trudeau to win back some votes from both the NDP and the Conservatives, and give the Prime Ministership a shot.

From what I remember, a lot of his views and policies are quite left-leaning. I am not sure how comfortable I am with that...

StylinRed 04-14-2013 04:13 PM

:fuckthatshit: i find it pathetic people are giddy because trudeaus sperm is in... like seriously wtf... what does he bring? nothing the Liberal party is really fishing here as some commentators mentioned some other candidates had well thought and substantiated plans for their goals but trudeau simply had "hey hey look at me"

Spartacus 04-14-2013 05:15 PM

TRUDEAUMANIA ROUND 2!

Cue attack ads by the Conservatives in 3, 2, 1...

vitaminG 04-14-2013 05:36 PM

steven harper vs justin trudeau vs NDP guy with beard

harper should have it a bit easier next time around...

there arent any parties in canada that are "right wing" so i dont know who you're voting for

theyre either right of centre, centrist or left of centre. i guess NDP is mostly left?

BBMme 04-14-2013 06:07 PM

Saw that coming, goodluck, because he will need it

Keep in mind Harper had about as much experience as him when he was made party leader. But cue the attacks on his short resume anyways.

Conservatives are as right wing as we get... I don't vote anymore as I just don't want any of them in, as I get old, I get disenfranchised with politicians

SkinnyPupp 04-14-2013 08:57 PM

People are excited because he has a name, and a young handsome face. What else do you know about him? :seriously:

Gridlock 04-14-2013 09:13 PM

I signed up to vote for the leader. I miss my liberals...the bastion of middle ground, logical choices.

I voted for trudeau...I read a little about him. Seemed good enough to me. Here's why:

He's charming. I'm hoping a little of his dad's charm wore off on the kid. And I'm hoping like hell that it works to get people to voe for him and we can end the ndp/cons us style system we're birthing.

Yeah. I voted for trudeau because of his name. Here's hoping it works.

Good for him.

Hopefully, he'll do a good job leading the Liberal party.

MG1 04-14-2013 11:05 PM

Cocky little bastard.......... reminds me a bit of his fuddle duddle father.

I guess if he's half what his father was, he'll do a decent job.

Slutty mother, whatshertits was interesting and kind of hot.

In the following YouTube video link this guy says he'd listen to Cotler (true Zionist) over his dad.
Real chilling comment from 3:44-4:07

Justin Trudeau show support to Irwin Cotler
Justin Trudeau, Liberal incumbent MP for the riding of Papineau, explain how Irwin Cotler influenced is political career.

Quote:

Irwin is a Zionist and is part of the CPCCA and responsible for trying to silence criticism of Israel as anti-semitic, soon to be made a crime. He and his pro-Zionist group want to silence the universities, any press still talking and censor the internet, starting with GOOGLE and ISP's. Listening to Cotler is the same as listening to Israeli propagandists. Identical script. Trudeau here is bowing to AIPAC North
Quote:

Irwin Cotler, Israel's man in Canada. Seeks to deligitimize free speech in Canada. Trudeau here has learned to bow to Canadian Zionists, so that he can simply be a politician.

Way to cite another anti-Israel/zionist person to further spread your frankly racist and hateful views as well as your political agenda. This stuff isn't even about Canadian politics. I bet you haven't even read into the criticism that Finkelstein has been slammed with.

Your story (garbage) is getting real old.

On topic however-the Liberals needed some fresh blood, Trudeau seems like the answer, it's all a matter on if he can deliver, and even a matter of what he can deliver. We all know with politics, things can be said, but never implemented.

Graeme S 04-14-2013 11:26 PM

Oh yes, because we all know Youtube comments are the most trustworthy form of journalism in the world.

CharlesInCharge 04-14-2013 11:37 PM

Did you miss out on the lengthy, extensively cited, page on Finkelstein's page?
rhetorical question.

Quoted for ridiculousness.

ProBoostin 04-14-2013 11:39 PM

Is it too much to ask to just rationally talk about a political figure without the mentioning of anti-zionist comments especially ones from YouTube? No one really gives two shits about it.

Anyways, from just listening to the news briefly, he seems to bring a spark to the Liberals and hopefully he can deliver in the end like RacingMetro said.

CharlesInCharge 04-14-2013 11:41 PM

Im sorry but you're pretty ignorant.

Aaaaaaand, back on topic. Further thread derailments will be deleted. As always, certain threads are for certain topics. Anti-zionism is for other places.
