Phone Thief Thread Update
 

Hey everyone. Those of you might remember the "Phone Thief" thread posted by EmperorIS recently.

Heres the tl;dr for those of you who missed it -

A friend of EmperorIS had her Nexus stolen. She had installed an app called 'Cerberus' which allowed her to track the phone to the house of the guy who ended up with it. She even had pictures of this guy looking very :concentrate: while trying to unlock the phone's lock code.
EmperorIS was encouraged by some douchebag to dox the guy.

The guy showed up on Revscene stating he had gotten the phone from someone on a Korean-language Vancouver-based social networking site and had returned it to the Kerrisdale police. We all thought it was bullshit.

He mentioned the distress he was having as a result of being put on Revscene and asked to be removed. We gave him an ultimatum.

Return the phone, buy her a new one, or the thread comes back.

Well, I'm happy to report that EmperorIS' friend's phone is back in her possession.

That being said, this issue is done and the thread served its purpose. The Revscene beatdown crew may not have had to mobilize but Revscene effected change in a positive way.... probably... I don' t know. Anyway.

Please do not mention the name of the person in those pictures any more on this site.

If you do mention his name, expect points or a ban.
