Traded in my 05 Xterra for a 09 VW Tiguan Highline.

Miss my X a lot, but do not miss my fuel bill! I bought my X primarily for work when I was an archaeologist....was always driving up mountains, logging roads, etc all around the interior. Transitioned out of field and it became a city vehicle...thought it was time to be responsible and down size.

Loving to Tiguan...stoked to see how it handles the winter. I certainly don't mind all the bells and whistles that came with it...never had fully loaded vehicle before :fullofwin:

Couple things done here and there, but it's more or less stock.

It's still a piece of shit, though. :lol

T4RAWR 06-12-2013 05:36 PM

looks like you're doing some major surgery on it.

The e-brake failed and it wasn't in gear, so it decided to go visit a gathering of trees down the hill from the house. Had to replace the front bumper/rebar, grill, headlights, hood, and some other misc stuff. At the same time, I replaced the rear calipers, rotors, pads, and e-brake cables. Oh, and the fuel pump. :lol

Installed a pull bar and some PIAA lights after all that.

Because my first love - Willys Jeeps - are highly undailydrivable I am now driving a 97 T4R LTD. I picked the 4Runner because I couldn't find a clean low mileage swb 70 series or 80 series Land Cruiser. I really like the 4Runner so far. Room to sleep in the back, comfier than a snuggie, locked and loaded. Because t4 kept harassing me and since I've been sick this past week and not quite high enough on cough syrup to become illiterate, I finally made a build thread which I will update when I start doing something about the mountain of parts I have accumulating in my buddy's shop, but don't hold your breath, it's being modded at good old unemployment pace.

where's that second pic bud?

Brianrietta 07-15-2013 08:29 PM

Just past Ford Mountain Correctional Institution. Probably one of my favorite camping spots. 35 minutes from my house... Probably the only redeeming factor of living in Chilliwack.

There's room for 3 vehicles to park quite easily on that side and have a few small tents (no room inbetween roots/stumps/trees for large 6+ person) and because of the narrowing of the road on either side, really no place for people to be right next to you.

The F150 was brand new when I got it and i put over 1000kms on it and tested its limits :) I liked the Jeep better, it felt more rugged on the trails.
