massage chair

Looking for some advice as to where to look or buy a massage chair. Looking to spend 1-2k on a decent full body massage chair for my dad as he is retiring soon.

I know there is OSIM but that brand cost way too much. I heard there is a panasonic model that is around 1.5k.

Any stores or online stores to check out?

Thanks

There is a store on Commercial drive and 5th. They carry the Panasonic chairs.
They used to be in the old Aberdeen mall.

Thats why i am looking for a panasonic cause i know there are a lot of 'cheap' massage chairs out there that offer a ton of feature but probably won't last more than a few hundred massages.

Anyone have experience with the Panasonic EP-1285K? Seems like is being sold at most places and the price is quite good.

what do you guys think of this one from Visions? it's highly discounted. Panasonic SwedeAtsu Massage Chair | EP1285K | Visions Electronics

any opinions or reviews? how does it compare against the likes of the more expensive ones like OSIM?

Parent's bought one from a store in Parker Place (across from the arcade area) a few years ago. Think it was north of $2k for a middle of the line model.

It had all the bells and whistles, but honestly, it didn't feel all that great. My brother-in-law bought a pretty basic one from Relax the Back for $1k (maybe less) and I preferred that over what my Dad got.

We got a Panasonic that was purchased about 5 Years ago. Thing still runs really strong and no problems at all. I think we paid about $4k for it. But in the end you get what you pay for.

National Massage Chairs
2125 Commerical Drive
604-253-6636

National Massage Chairs

Parents got a Panasonic at the end of 2012, whole family been using it everyday and its going very strong.

Not very flexible on price but it has 5 year factory warranty claims through their store and 5 year in house repairs.

cost 5k tho

Edit: definitely try it out and see what your dad want out of it. some functions are better than others ie targeting specific areas like your neck or palm

why not buy your dad a $2k gift card at a "massage parlor" and let him decide how to use it?

I dont recommend the EMF from these things
More about it towards the bottom of the page

Plus the store will let you trade in your old chair when you want to buy a new one

maksimizer 03-29-2014 03:07 PM

I'l be your massage chair, and i only charge 500-

Selanne_200 03-29-2014 03:20 PM

+1 for national for their service. We bought a panasonic chair through them and it's still going through, we did end up getting the top model but there are a few mid-range ones from 1.5k to 3k. I wouldn't get the cheap china made ones for 1g but if you want to check it out, there's a store in Crystal mall and one on Alderbridge across from the timmy. I tried them out and it didn't feel comfy at all
