Where to buy saddle for floor jack

Does anyone know where to buy replacement rubble saddles for floor jacks? I bought my jack from Canadian Tire but they don't sell the saddle separately. They had no idea where to go when I called them.

Also, what's the proper way to jack a car (with a non-factory jack) that has a sharp metal edge as the jack point? My friend used this saddle on his Honda S2000 and the car basically sliced the saddle in half when he raised the jack. I suggested a small piece of wood, but wondering if there's a more "proper" way to do this. Thanks.

depending on the jack, u may be able to find a saddle at KMS or princess auto... and as for properly picking up a car, it depends on what the factory jack points look like... if they're a reinforced part of the pinch/rocker seam, then u can use a block of wood carefully, however i've seen blocks of wood fail before... bare metal saddle on the rocker pinch seam works best, but can kink the seam...

careful when using jack jaws... i've seen one roll when the car was tilted...

i've taken a 2.5" round 1.5" piece of plastic and had a 1/4" groove cut into it... it worked really well... a hockey puck was too big to sit in the bottom of my jack saddle...

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try KMS sometime next week.

So how do shops lift cars that have the sharp edges as jack points without damaging car or hoist? I always assumed all cars had flat jack points (the American and German cars my family owned over the years all did) but what's up with Jap cars?

*update*

KMS has 1 available jack pad available. The pad was also 4", but the metal part of the jack has a taper that prevents the KMS pad from seating properly.

Any more ideas?

Take a grinder to the stub underneath the saddle and make it fit. If you want to know what kind of taper to match, stuff the hole with some playdoh or something.

^ Anyone have access to a grinder where I can do this, or know a place I can try to buy another pad? These things are <$10, so rather not buy a $150 tool to fix it lol.
