Massive power outage in Richmond Just a heads up to everyone, there is a large power outage in Richmond. Francis to bridgeport, minoru to no. 7 road is the area affected and according to BC hydro, it will be down until 3am. Apparently it was caused by a motor vehicle accident. Link below. Drive carefully and get home safe everybody. http://www.bchydro.com/outages/orsTableView.jsp Posted via RS Mobile |

Wonder where this accident happened Posted via RS Mobile |
That's what I was wondering as well. In all of the previous power outages i've been in, it was only a small grid that was affected. Maybe just a few blocks. But this time the area spans so far. Must be pretty serious Posted via RS Mobile |

accident is around the power station granville and gardencity. so the car must have hit one of the main poles. Posted via RS Mobile |
I've always thought that particular intersection was retarded, who the hell designed it? Posted via RS Mobile |
I used to live in a townhouse on the SW corner of that intersection and man, weekly accidents, even back then. |

The curve follows the old tram route, then they started building a road that followed the tram track, and did another road that resulted in the retard intersection you get today |

I featured this intersection in one of my videos, and one of the suggestions I got was "Why don't they just install a round-a-bout at this intersection instead?" Am I the only one who thinks that there will probably be MORE accidents if they installed a round-a-bout? I mean, I'm pretty sure there's no round-a-bouts in Richmond for a reason.. |
